Description: Second course run by the Vance Toe River Lodge (who also run nearby Elk Mtn.) Most holes are flat and play through a Christmas tree farm. This is a shorter and easier alternative to the strenuous Elk Mtn. course.

Local Directions: From Charlotte, NC:
Take I-85 to I-77 N to I-40 West to exit 86 for Marion/Hwy. 226. Turn right off of the exit ramp. Hwy. 226 turns into Hwy. 221 North. Continue on 221 North through Marion and all the way up the mountain until you have gone approximately 2 miles past Linville Falls. Turn left onto NC Hwy 194 (4 miles long). Turn Right at stop sign onto Hwy 19E N and Toe River Lodge is 5 miles on Left.
From Asheville, NC:
Take I-26 West and continue approximately 3 miles past Mars Hill and take exit for Hwy 19E North towards Burnsville/Spruce Pine. Stay on 19E North all the way through Burnsville and Spruce Pine. The Toe River Lodge is approx. 12 miles past Spruce Pine on the Left.
From Greenville, SC:
Take I-85 North to Chesnee/221 North exit. Continue on 221 North through Rutherfordton, Marion, and up the mountain. After an ascent up the mountain continue approximately 2 miles past Linville Falls and turn Left at gas station onto NC Hwy 194 (4 miles long). Turn Right at stop sign onto Hwy 19E North and Toe River Lodge is 5 miles on Left.
From Elizabethton, TN:
Take NC Hwy 19E South. Approx. 2 miles past Elk Park turn Right (in Cranberry, NC) to stay on NC Hwy 19E South towards Spruce Pine and continue 11 miles into Plumtree. Toe River Lodge is on the Right 3/10 mile past Post Office.
From Blowing Rock:
Take the Blue Ridge Parkway South and take Linville Falls/NC Hwy 221 exit. Turn Right onto Hwy 221 North and continue for 1 mile and turn left onto Hwy 194 (4 miles long). Turn Right at stop sign onto Hwy 19E North and Toe River Lodge is 5 miles on Left.
From Banner Elk, NC:
Take NC Hwy 194 South past Lees McRae College 6.7 miles to Elk Park. At T intersection, turn left onto NC Hwy 19E South. Go 1/4 mile, turn right, (in Cranberry, NC) and continue on Hwy 19E South for 11 miles. The Toe River Lodge is 3/10 mile past the Plumtree Post Office on your right as soon as you cross the bridge over the North Toe River.
From Boone, NC:
Take NC Hwy 105 South 16 miles through Foscoe, through Tynecastle (where McDonalds is on the left), and into Linville where you will turn right at the the traffic signal onto Hwy 181 (Linville Post Office is on your right). Continue on Hwy 181 4.5 miles and turn right at the traffic signal onto Hwy 194 (CVS Pharmacy is on your right). Take NC Hwy 194 North out of town and continue 3 miles past Mountain Glen Golf Course and Turn Left onto Hwy 19E in Cranberry, NC. Continue on Hwy 19E Southbound for 11 miles. The Toe River Lodge is 3/10 mile past the Plumtree Post Office on your right as soon as you cross the bridge over the North Toe River.
From Newland, NC:
Take NC Hwy 194 North out of town and continue 3 miles past Mountain Glen Golf Course and turn Left onto Hwy 19E in Cranberry, NC. Continue on Hwy 19E Southbound for 11 miles.
