Located within the Orchard Hill area of the UMass Amherst campus, this 9-hole course offers sweeping views of the surrounding mountain ranges in the Pioneer Valley. The course --- which boasts a mixture of wooded and open field holes along with on-site pond --- is free to play for students and the public.
Situated on what once was the home of Massachusetts Agricultural College, the disc golf course brings to light equestrian relics, experimental test plots and old growth forests through cohesive design that includes environmental education and beginner disc golf signage on each hole.
If deemed a success by the University, the 9-hole installation will expand to 18 holes with permanent tees and signage.
