Course Conditions as of 2/28/2014
Austin Parks WebPage (2/27/2014): The south nine holes are temporarily closed. The Austin Parks and Recreation Department and Watershed Protection Department have temporarily closed the south nine holes of the Zilker Disc Golf Course for renovation construction, with a projected reopening date in mid-April. The north nine holes are projected to temporarily close in early April and reopen in July 2014. Due to the continuing drought, the park has lost many trees and other vegetation, with the resultant reduction in ground cover leading to soil erosion. The objective of this project is to return the disc golf course to a healthy and attractive park space, create a more sustainable design that will curtail the erosion and vegetation loss, and to provide a more attractive and user-friendly disc golf course. The Zilker Park Disc Golf Course renovation project includes drainage improvements, erosion repair, vegetation management and improvement of the disc golf course features.
