What's up, My Nerds?

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 21, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

There are three short holes in a small field. Wait, I didn't reach my character requirements yet? Fine.
- The three holes make a triangle in the field: first hole goes out, second goes across the field, third comes right back to where you start.
- Course is easy to navigate as you can see all three baskets the entire time. Tee areas are easily marked as well.
- Course can be played in under five minutes. I probably should have left my truck running.
- Third hole is downhill. First is slightly uphill.

Cons:

Simple, portable baskets. I wouldn't want to rely on these baskets if I needed to really make a putt.
- No real place to park. Parked in the grass. Doubt anybody even noticed I was here.
- Almost too fast to use the 'stretch your legs' comment. Would need to play through two to three times to really get moving. Maybe 800 feet of total walking to play the three holes. You walk further at some of the massive truck stop gas stations.
- It really just feels like throwing at three baskets in an open field without any challenge or enjoyment.
- It causes one to do some self introspection when you're driving out of the way to bag this place.

Other Thoughts:

I guess if you're staying at the KOA, and you're real bored, you could kill 20 minutes by playing these holes four or five times. After that, you'll be bored again.
- I don't like reviewing these places. Everyone knows it's a mediocre 'course'. Every one of us can visualize playing this course simply by looking at a picture or course map. And, you'd be right that's exactly how this course plays.
- It's taken me three times as long to write this review as it did to play. I'm up to 11 minutes since I started writing.
- The field is about 300 - 350 feet long. So, maybe you could do light field work.
- As a reminder, I give practice areas a default 2.5 rating. I feel they shouldn't be rated because they're simply baskets in a field (more often than not), and as such would realistically be all rated 0s or 1s.
- These baskets are there. So, some of us will play here. Ok!
