Reviewed: Played on:Jul 12, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Aesthetic-- plays through a "field" beside a large apartment complex south of Traverse City. Intertwines with walking trails and other amenities so be cautious

Hole #1-- I had such high hopes for this course after seeing #1. Plays from the top of a rise down into a valley, over a stream, back uphill to a basket on a hillside. The course is seriously down hill from there...

Teesigns-- for what they are they are nice. distance, number, rough sketch of the hole.

Routing and navigation-- pretty easy, the basket is usually right next to the next tee. Please see below for the routing on #5.

Cons:

Teepads-- rutted out sand spots amongst the dried out scratchy weeds that are knee high throughout the fields. Much garbage does seem to surround them a goodly portion of the time even though garbages are present on most holes.

#3-- plays down a very narrow walking path with a lake on the left. The ceiling here is like 10' tall and the path is about as wide. awful hole here.

#5-9-- #5 plays across a valley with a small stream in the middle. Not a bad hole in general, but there is NO INDICATION on how to cross the stream. there is no bridge or any signs to route you to a good place to cross the stream. #6 is the shortest hole on the course at 200' and is a simple straight shot at a basket on a hill. #7 is a loooooong bomber across a field filled with more stratchy rough than you can shake a stick at. #8 and #9 are much the same.

The long walk-- walking back to your car is about a quarter mile walk uphill (both ways).

Baskets-- DGA, in good shape but they seem to be perched precariously and mounted on moveable bases? not sure. they must be pulled in the winter but the sleeves aren't left in the ground?

Other Thoughts:

This is not a good course. don't play it unless you are bagging in the area.
I had no issue with parking with residents but I don't know if this could be an issue or not.
