Good Luck

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 26, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Basic, somewhat space-out, trio of baskets in private, neighborhood park.
- If you live in the neighborhood, this is a solid locale for some practice work. If not, you're putting too much effort into bagging.
- I played the course on Thanksgiving. In some ways, that was to my benefit. Pulling up I saw the gate blocking access to the parking lot. I parked outside of it and began walking in when I was approached by a neighbor. Being in a generous mood, he used his security code to let me into the park. Let's say I avoided direct questioning about whether they lived in the neighborhood.
- Three baskets are spread around the park area. You can pick your own tees and the direction you're playing. Two holes are essentially isolated. The third one plays past a playground, so you're not throwing longer shots if there are kids here.
- Plenty of room and angles to practice mid-range, approach shots, and putts. You would have to get creative to find more than 400 feet to throw longer shots (unless you want to throw down the park road).
- Nice scenery and backdrops. Pleasant location.
- I loved the neighborhood running trails far more than the three baskets. Multiple trails that lead you to the banks of the Ashley River.

Cons:

Private, limited access. I was barely out of the car before I was approached by a neighbor. If he had asked any more questions, there's no chance I would have been able to play.
- That said, this is a quick play. You could be in and out in under five minutes. If you're a bagger who insists on playing the course, you could be gone before anyone notices your parked car.
- Not meant as an actual course. There's no challenge to these layouts. It's clearly meant as another amenity for the park.
- Possible safety issues if others are using this common space. Again, because you 'live here', you can come here anytime.

Other Thoughts:

I'd be happy if my neighborhood had three baskets. I'd be happier if my neighborhood had running/walking trails like this.
- Yeah, yeah, yeah. The course isn't meant for better players. All that spiel. So, if you come with kids, they can throw a disc at the baskets.
- I doubt there's ever much traffic here. Maybe a couple of neighbors meet up. Maybe you can create a basic six or nine hole layout.
- Good for the neighborhood having three baskets. I was only 10 minutes away thanks to finding only 1 CVS open on Thanksgiving. Even being that close it felt like a waste of time to stop by here. Baggers gotta bag.
