Pros:
- Well-maintained school grounds.
- Easy navigation.
- Although short, a good range of distances.
- Tee signs with par and distance.
- Tee fronts are marked
- Very cart friendly
- Very beginner-friendly.
- Easy bag off I-70
Cons:
- Mostly shorter throws.
- Longer throws are just open field shots.
- Very wet.
- Course access may be restricted to off-school hours.
- Safety can be an issue on 8 and 9.
- Long walk back to parking after 9.
Other Thoughts:
- Bennet High School DGC starts on the West side of the building and plays to the north, where it combines a few open field bomber holes before heading back to the East side of the building.
- If you can find the first tee, the rest of the navigation is easy. The next tee is usually right next to the basket you just played. This could be a safety issue if more than a few groups were playing.
- This course has a very generous par setting even for beginners. There really shouldn't be any par 5's on this course, but I'm still counting my drop-in Eagle.
- Hole 8's basket is next to the building and has you throwing towards doors and windows. Hole 9 is a blind 180* shot around one side of the building. This course is probably best played when school is out for summer and there is no risk of other people being around.
- Fairway 6 looks like it could have some drainage issues. We played the day after a rain, and there was still a lot of standing water throughout the fairway.
- Final Thought: The first hole is so short, I thought we had wasted our time driving here. But there are some fun throws to be had. Some are open fairways to guarded baskets, and others are open baskets with guarded fairways. And yes, 6 is ridiculously short as well. Keep in mind this is a High School course though, and it's not a bad place to stretch the legs if you're traveling I-70. It's too far of a drive to recommend if you are just traveling I-25 though.
