Pros:

The Blake School, as it's actually known as, now is only a seven hole course. Holes 7 and 8 are no longer there. There's a building and parking lot where those holes used to be located.

Discatchers on each hole. These are in alright shape but catch just fine. The yellow bands definitely help with spotting them out here since there's some walks between holes. One basket and placement per hole.

There are a couple tee signs out here. Holes 1, 3 and 6 all had a sign. Very basic. Hole number and distance (in yards).

Clean, free to play and won't be busy as far as other disc golfers go.

Cons:

Only three tee signs out of the seven playable holes. This makes playing the course without a map basically impossible. Even the Udisc map had the 9 hole old layout so we had to make up a tee for the last "hole". Would've actually made sense as a nine, not so much now.

The holes are almost all pretty wide open. There were a few trees to the left side of hole 3's fairway otherwise that was it.

Won't be playable if the soccer field by holes 1 and 2 or the baseball field by holes 4 and 5 were in use. Or at least those holes would have to be skipped.

Long walk back to the parking lot after the last hole.

Other Thoughts:

This course looked to be pretty poor when it was a nine judging by the map. It's pretty much a waste of time now as a seven hole course. I wouldn't waste your time here unless you need to play them all. Not good.

Decent for a School Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 27, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Nice Discatchers
-Tees are marked at least
-Campus is very well maintained, no worries about mowing or trash or safety.
-Elevation on a few holes, especially 3.
-Decent variation in hole length. A few ace runs and a very long one too!

Cons:

-There weren't any signs that I saw talking about playing hours but I assume they wouldn't want you on the course during school hours or during the couple hours after school due to the course playing through and around a bunch of the athletic fields. School courses always feel a little weird to me.
-Navigation was ok, not the best. It would be nice if the school or a local would make up a course map no matter how rudimentary.
-Many holes were too open and throwing over or around athletic fields or parking lots. Some holes weren't too interesting.

Other Thoughts:

-Like many school courses there is no open land set aside for a disc golf course so if they want one, they need to cram it into the rest of the established campus.
-I would recommend stopping here if you are in the west metro at least once. Some of the holes are fun and interesting. Remember to do so in the non school hours.

Fun mix of 9 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 20, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Beautiful landscaping and very nice baskets. This course is very well maintained and in great condition. Most holes over 300' with a couple pitch n putts to mix it up. Hole 8 is 600' with lots of opportunities for trouble including fences and running tracks. Nice elevation on hole 3 with a tomahawk being the safest throw off the tee. Good fun!

Cons:

The course crosses a couple of football fields as well as a soccer field so when those activities are going on there is no disc golf. Hole 4 also throws across a large parking lot that is currently filled with school buses as well as the driveway for the school. Can be dangerous with traffic. There is no definitive tee location that I could find for hole 6. We threw from the road after hole 5.

Other Thoughts:

Fun course for a quick round in Hopkins. The little bit of elevation gives you a great work out.

Blake Middle School 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 21, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This course winds around the athletic fields, beginning on the football field, across several soccer pitches, and crossing over and ending by the track. The grass is in great shape and the baskets are very high quality. Several of the holes are fairly long and are great for airing it out. The course is rarely busy but watch out for other people using the fields. The course is private property and so is well maintained. The school expects visitors to respect the grounds.

Cons:

The holes are not challenging because they pass over athletic fields with few trees or other obstacles that make for interesting holes. We like to visit the course to practice driving and putting.
