Pros:
-prodigy baskets in great condition, practice basket
-concrete tees on all holes, 1 & 6 use pre-existing pavement
-sensible routing and flow
-offers wind practice, and from most directions
-distance variety from 150' to 460'
-there are two trees, one on hole 6 and one on hole 13
-great that they didn't try to shoehorn 18 holes into this space
Cons:
-no obstacles whatsoever on the majority of the holes
-the wind can be oppressive
-high school campus - limited hours
-mando on hole 8 is weird but understandable
Other Thoughts:
Burkburnett High School has a disc golf course. I hear that sentence in my head the same way I hear "Jon Benjamin has a Van", if anyone remembers that show and gets the reference.
There are 13 great Prodigy baskets plus another practice basket near hole 1. There are 11 concrete tees and two more where you tee off from the edge of the parking lot (hole 1) or the sidewalk next to another parking lot (hole 6). Hole 6 is also one of the two holes that feature a tree, and the only one where the tree influences your shot. It's close to the tee so if forces a wide hyzer; fun ace run.
The wind is omnipresent and brutal. Great practice but probably not a fun experience for the HS students most of the time. There is a mando pole on hole 8 that is not obvious from the tee. It looks like it is there to prevent drives from landing in the neighbor's yard so it's sensical but still strange because the pole is quite a ways to the left on a dogleg right fairway.
There's not much else to say. It's boring and simple but the equipment is in great condition. It's a good place to practice driving in the wind by yourself. You'll probably never see another group or person out on the course. Locals and course baggers only.
