Pros:

- We were the only ones golfing and it was during a weekend. Disc Golf doesn't seem to be very popular at the resort.
- The signs pointing towards the basket and indicating the par were helpful.
- When the next "tee" wasn't in sight, there were signs indicating the location of the next tee.
- The course was nicely maintained, which was a huge plus.
- There was one fun hole where you threw into a tight line of pines before sharply turning into the fairway. Not the most difficult shot, but it was a nice change of pace.

Cons:

- The parking was confusing. The front desk staff member told me there was a shack, but all we were able to find was a sign.
- It was confusing locating the office where you need to pay. The parking at the office was not noticeable as well.
- The course costs $5 to play which is a little steep for how short the course is.
- Advanced players are not going to find much challenge at this course.
- There were a lot of bugs and they loved flying towards my face and more specially, my eyes.
- The office did not have any maps and there was no map at the course itself.
- There were no teepads.
- There were no benches to rest in between shots.

Other Thoughts:

The course was fun but the $5 price point was steep for what you're paying for. No teepads or benches seemed odd after paying a fee. The bugs were particularly bad at this location and there were only 11 holes. It was a fun course and possibly worth playing, but I expect more from a paid course and didn't feel like Evergreen Lodge Resort delivered.

Pros:

1. Very beautiful setting amidst red and white pines and birch.
2. All fairways were well mowed.
3. You most likely will have it all to yourself.
4. Easy to navigate, tee signs are easy to find.
5. Mostly wide open throws with little chance to lose a disc.

Cons:

1. Dirt tee pads.
2. No hole length info.
3, Bugs could be an issue.
4. Not very challenging for advanced players.

Other Thoughts:

For an average player like myself (drives 250 -300 feet), this was a very enjoyable course. Mostly wide open fairways, though there is one long overhanging branch on #5 that must be accounted for on the tee off. #7 is through the woods and then doglegs to the right. And #9 runs through trees. A lot of room to make this 18, but it is part of a resort so is seasonal. There is a $5 fee payable at the lodge down the hill, though the person in the lodge seemed surprised that I came to pay. The resort itself, on Big Sand Lake, is really nice.
