Pros:
- The course was mostly well manicured
- Very fun elevation, up and down
- New, easy to spot baskets
- A few great roller opportunities
- A few engaging par 4s
- Proshop attendant was nice, there was a decently stocked disc selection and disc golf was not an anomoly; it was almost a 1:1 ratio.
Cons:
-The biggest con is the obvious one for a ball golf course; it's open and fairly... boring. Ok, throw another flat/hyzer as far as I can.
- In combination, a few of the hole distances didn't make sense. A wide open 425' par 4? I missed my eagle putt!
- There are no tee signs. If I wasn't playing with someone, it would have been tough. I think UDisc is the answer here, but I play golf to leave my phone behind.
- A few teepads are in the circle of the previous basket. It is a gigantic piece of land, this one stumped me.
- Variety in teepads, with some great, but some extremely lacking. Even number one, a handbuilt astroturf pad was just barely too small. I fell off the front and my cardmate fell off the back.
- No warm up area. Just a practice basket would go a long way.
Other Thoughts:
Sounds like the course is a work in progress, so I hope to be able to come back to an improved course and elevate the rating.
The elevation makes it fun once, and there is some unique OB, but holes 5-15 really don't do much either than bridge the gap between 4 and 16. However, the first four and last three are really enjoyable.
We walked and I enjoyed the walk. Don't feel like you need a cart.
There are a few opportunities to add to the course. A few woodland areas that are not used could be incorporated and in an area or two distance could be added to turn it into a real par four (or subtracted to be called a three)
