Pros:
- Lake Michigan College has a pretty campus not far from I-94, with a small scenic lake that the 9-hole disc golf course does manage to take advantage of on hole #'s 8 & 9, as the fairway of the former follows the edge of the lake on the left, before the latter "turns the corner" and finishes strong with a potential "over the corner of the lake" shot.
- To find the course, follow the signage to the Athletic Fields. #1 is near the first of the two dorms. The flow is more or less common sense, with the exception of hole #5, which is catty-corner across the track. After finishing #9, there's a small walk back to the car.
- The first several holes are short, very short, and in a tight little section of the student dorms. #5 plays along the far side of the track, then the course morphs into megalong open bombers along the backside of two baseball field fences. Hole #'s 6 - 8 fit this description.
- Water nominally in play on #8, and on #9.
- Decent signs and baskets. Enough to fit the bill.
Cons:
- Flat, mostly open, with an unsafe, cramped layout in places. The next tees are all way too close to the last basket. The flow between #'s 1, 2, 3, and 4 are a bit back and forth atop each other.
- A bit disjointed, with short weird front 4, long and demanding (lengthwise, at least) holes on the back 5. Not really good for beginners on the back, way too easy and dangerous for experienced players on the front 4. So kind of a mixed bag, here.
- Natural pads aren't terrible but nothing to put in the pro section, either.
Other Thoughts:
- Reasonable; not necessarily exciting.
