Pros:
Sunrise Meadows Park is apparently the city of Nibley's newest park. It is a drainage retention area located just a short distance from Thomas Edison Elementary School. The area appears to be disc golf exclusive at this time although I don't know if that's what the master plan for this park calls for as the city has many improvements coming to this park, such as grass and trees. I don't know if that means playgrounds and other things but for now the DG is exclusive. This is a fairly beginner and recreational player friendly course with fairly wide open throws and shorter distances. They are planning on adding trees for obstacles in the future but for now it is wide open. There is some water hazard on the last hole, and an errant shot could be unrecoverable.
There are 9 Innova discatcher baskets and tees are on either concrete or asphalt paths. There are good signs and the course is easily navigable because of its openness. The course plays fairly safe and although there are nearby houses the fairways do not encroach on them, but for the most part play away from them. There is OB used to make the course more challenging.
Cons:
Parking is limited to street parking and the course plays on both side of the main residential road. Holes 1-5 are played on the west side of S 1200 W while holes 6-9 are played on the east side of the street.
The course is very short with no holes over 300 feet and many less than 200 feet. The course is wide open with no obstacles to the basket.
There was some swamp like water on the right side of hole 9 that looked like it could be nasty to land in or near when we played.
Other Thoughts:
This is a solid recreational neighborhood course. It is disc golf exclusive and unlike a lot of Utah's other neighborhood courses it is safe to play. It is not the most attractive piece of land but it is good for what it is. The course was fairly well mowed and taken care of when we were there but judging by others comments there can be times when it's not. If the city does put in grass and trees, as they have said they would, it will greatly enhance this property and significantly raise the playing factor here. I do prefer my courses be a little bit more technical, but this should be a good course for introduction to the game and even for more advanced players to practice their upshots and putting.
On a final note this course was difficult to find. I first mapped Nibley City Park which is the name of the park listed here which took me to a completely different park. If any of the mods are reading this, this course's name should probably be changed from Nibley City to Sunrise Meadows, as there is another park with that name. I then tried mapping the address listed on here originally which was 2400 S 1200 W which took me about a half mile south of the course on S 1200 W and that side of S 1200 W and the side the course is on don't connect. The current address I put up is 2500 S 1200 W which gets you to the corner by the park, and it is the address the city of Nibley is using for Sunrise Meadows Park, but it is a 100 feet or so south to the actual park. I was able to actually map Sunrise Meadows Disc Golf Course on google and have it take me there, also the latitude and longitude listed on here will work as well.
