Pros:
The course really challenges you to step your driving game if you want to score well here. Although I find the course more open than I would typically like, it's not 'throw in an open field to a basket 500 feet that way' kind of a course. The tree line on the first few holes really keeps you in check as going in there is a nasty rough to get out of, I like that. Though the initial drive maybe open the baskets here are all protected by trees directly or indirectly (visually). I felt the par here was geared more for low amateurs/newer players and the distance for those players to be right in line with the skill level. Advanced players and pros might find many of these holes to be 'tweener' type holes or easy par 3 holes depending on the distance. Overall there really isn't a bad hole out here, and I felt that the designers did well with what they were given.
Cons:
DANGER DANGER DANGER:
This is most definitely a multi use park and while playing I experienced this first hand. There were many RV's, campers and tents on the course near holes 2 and 3 which I guess is why hole 2 has been shortened considerably from the once 600 feet it once was. Basket 3 has also been moved away from these areas for the reasons I guess so just note that the course map here is a little off. Hole 6 is just an insane hole, a fun one if you can play it but it throws across the road in the park, a parking lot, tennis courts, and a basketball court. I had to skip this hole due to the mowers truck being parked in the middle of the fairway. You rally have to watch where you throw here.
Righty/Lefty:
Overall I thought the course favored RHBH players very heavily and didn't feel the need to throw anything but a RHBH hyzer the whole time I was here. Also this would be a sweet course for rollers but the mowers are in mulch mode and kill any attempt at them so that was sad being that rollers are a huge part of my game.
Teepads/Baskets:
The baskets were all set quite low; most of them came up to only my belly button at best (I'm 6 foot 2) which isn't the worst thing in the world but worth noting I suppose. The tee pads were unusually short considering there are some holes here that require full power drives and distance being the main challenge.
Navigating and throwing for 1st timers:
I think most if not all of these baskets are blind. Like I mentioned above holes 2 and 3 have been moved so they don't match the tee signs or the map anymore making them even more challenging to find if you're not using Udisc which I don't, I'm old school. Tee pads are pretty close to the next basket so finding them is easy but baskets are almost always obstructed from view so you may need to walk ahead and spot them before throwing or do your best chucker impression and wing it, YOLO!
Other Thoughts:
Overall pretty good 9 hole course especially when you're looking for something more than a pitch and putt at the moment. When you drive in you think "oh no not another wide open field course" but it's much better than that so give it a chance and go play. Finding the start is a little weird but go in to the park, take a right then take your first left and park near the gazebo with the circle benches. Have fun!
