In bad disrepair, basically a practice area 2+ years

Pros:

- #3, 5, 6, and 8 are playable.
- #4 is also playable, but the basket is being overgrown by weeds and the rough/trees next to the river (it may take you a while to find it).
- Fairways are mowed frequently enough by park staff to keep them in check.
- In an otherwise nice park and suitable space for a 9 hole course.

Cons:

Where to start.... Worst 'course' in Grand Forks because:
- Baskets are missing for #1, 2, 7, and 9.
- All tee poles are present (I think), but all the tee signs are missing now except the sign for #2 (for which the basket is missing).
- Navigation is difficult. If it wasn't for the course description here saying to walk to the north end of the park to find the first tee I'd have had no clue where to go. My recommendation:
*Look for 6ft tall square metal poles in the grass; some have the remains of a wood sign still screwed to them which give you a hint which way to look for the basket (if it's there).*
- Only the baskets for #3 and #5 face the tee, the others are all turned so the number faces some other direction.
- Multiple basket rims and tops are bent, like a mower ran into them, and the basket for #6 is leaned over a bit.
- A low tree is really overhanging the basket for #8, making it hard to see from a distance and hard to land an approach shot at easy putting distance. To find the tee for this hole: as you're walking the fairway of #6 you'll see two tee poles to your right - the one without a wood sign and closer to the bike path is (I think) the tee for #8.

Other Thoughts:

- This "course" looks like it has been abandoned since its install, and it's been devastated by spring floods and complete lack of maintenance - it is no longer a true course.

- On the positive side, it's in a pleasant park where you could bring the family for a picnic and show them how the sport works with a few average holes. Just don't expect to play or record a full 9 hole round here anymore.

Pros:

Fairly short course with a variety of shot types. A couple holes have water hazards which make the course more challenging. Other holes require you to go through or around trees which is also nice. Nice clean little park, and not very busy.

Cons:

The course is not signed very well. I spent a lot of time looking for tees and baskets. There is no sign directing you to the first hole and none of the signs show where the basket is. Some of the signs like on holes 6 and 9 are missing. Not much variety in hole length, all are between 300 and 400 feet, except for #1 which is over 500, but all are still par 3s. No concrete tee pads.

Other Thoughts:

Nice 9 hole course and good to practice on since it's not very busy.

Pros:

Peaceful park along the Red River making for some picturesque views.
Variation of holes has straight shots as well as basket locations to the left and right.

Cons:

Horribly marked, you'll spend most of your time searching for the next tee or basket.
No tee pads, just the normal grass of the park.
Baskets are a bit beat up but work fine.
Number plates on top of baskets aren't pointed towards the tee, so you don't know which basket to throw at.
Holes have a post with a piece of paper showing hole number, par, and distance, but they don't show an arrow or anything to help you find where the hole is.
Hole #6 doesn't have anything on the post, but it's a bend to the left over the swampy area about 280 feet.
Overhanging branches make some shots from the tee impossible.

Other Thoughts:

This course has a lot of potential. It needs trimming, concrete tee boxes, better signage and direction. The view of the river at the first basket is breathtaking.

Pros:

- Nice, quiet, grassy park with trees and river views
- Terrain is undulating grass which adds texture
- Signs with distance stated

Cons:

- No tees, just poles with a number, par and distance but they dont show direction of play or basket location.
- Baskets are old and bent but not rusty
- Throw line is marked by two small flags stuck in the grass
- Looks like this course is under construction.
- Hole 6 is missing its number
- Tee 7 is in a strange place. Should be near basket 6 but it's not. Instead it requires a good walk.
- Tee 8 is also oddly placed, requiring needless walking back toward tee 7
- The course is not visible from the parking lot. It's hidden by the levee
- Hole 1 requires walking left a good distance and guessing because nothing says: "Hey, I'm over here!"

Other Thoughts:

Could be a really nice course because its a peaceful park along the river.
