Pros:
What I personally like and how this course stacks up in my list of 9 hole courses (over 110 played):
1) Holes with good risk/reward. Fair, but harsh punishment for bad decisions or execution. == D
(Wide open and long-ish feeling. Only the OB road provides any punishment on a couple of holes.)
2) Holes that have rewarding birdie opportunities for me. I'm a Blue level player (950ish skill) who throws 300' accurately, 360' max. == C-
(4-5 holes are mildly rewarding due to length alone. But with no obstacles other than the wind, this is about about as exciting as a practice basket in a field.....with about the same amount of walking.)
3) More wooded than open - lots of variety of shots required caused by hole shape and topography == D
(There is slight inclines on this course, but not enough to make much of a difference. Have I mentioned yet that this course is wide friggin' open?)
4) Natural beauty (Appalachian beauty preferred) and seclusion. == C-
(This course is in a very rural area without much traffic or noise, but the course is laid out on a treeless strip of land that is about 150 yards wide between a large college building the main road. So, you never get any seclusion. It is not ugly by any stretch, but a C+ grade (slightly above average) here is generous.)
5) Bonus points for multi-throw holes with defined landing zones, good risk/reward and multiple options to play them. == NA (0 bonus points for this)
