Pros:
-High Fun Factor - These tighter lines with shorter hole distances really is a lot of fun, resulting in many scenarios where you hold your breathe
-Good work on the technical game out here. These aren't all just straight throws, you will have to throw discs around trees.
-Beautiful Park - This is in a community park and it is a very nice walk through the park while throwing disc. Love it.
-Very clean - although there are no garbages on the course, this course was spotless. I did notice the park guy with his son or grandson following me with a garbage bag. I do think they place a high priority on keeping this park clean and have a lot of pride with the course.
-Flat out I had a lot of fun on this course.
Cons:
-There are only 2 holes that introduce some distance to the course, and even those holes aren't super long.
-No garbages out on the course - although it was not dirty, this could pose a problem when the park maintenance guy slacks off.
-Natural pads - Although this doesn't bother me, in fact I kind of like it, I do see this as a lower standard than concrete pads.
-Most holes are short and move left, getting slightly repetitive at points
-Its only 9 holes
-Almost certain some of the distances are off on a few holes. Think maybe the course has changed recently.
Other Thoughts:
I really did enjoy my time playing this 9-hole course. I do not typically like 9-holes, but was up in the area for work training and this was rated the best course in my area. I give this course a true rating of 3.25. Since the general course rating is above the 3.5 option I have and I believe the rating is below that I decided to give the course the 3 rating instead of the 3.5 option I have. I seen in another review a person put it is a challenging course, I would have to somewhat disagree. I think it is a fairly easy, short, fun factor course that will not satisfy any person interested mainly in "championship" courses. I enjoy short technical throws and that is why I feel this course is a 3.25. This course could easily post a rating of 2 from someone who does not like this type of throw. All said and done, if you are traveling up to Brainerd for something, swing through and give this course a shot, it is definitely worth it. However, I would not recommend going way out of your way to hit this course up since it is out in the middle of nowhere and is only 9 holes. While out there, I did notice some potential other areas that may have been getting cleared out to add holes. If this course goes to 18-holes I would definitely recommend going out of your way to hit it up if you like short, technical holes.
