Great course layout with multiple tees for each hole. Challenging and varied terrain. Mixed distances and curves so everything isn't a long bomb or left hand curves . Clearly designed to challenge both FH and BH players evenly. Awesome people on the course. Signs are clear and the locations of the next tees are very easy to find.

A little hard to find if you don't know where you are looking, as the sign for the entrance is very small and it can be difficult to make a left had turn into the parking area because of oncoming traffic.
Some holes are really tight with trees and can be very difficult for a new player. The rough is deep in the field holes and the weeds can eat your disc very easily.

This is a course local to me and the home course to some of my friends. Had a pleasurable experience out learning the course. Certainly a different kind of challenge, even from the short tees. This course can be very difficult for a new player and having a more experienced player with you to learn the lines and basket locations is a huge help.
This will be a premier course in the area as the tee pads are updated and entrance is marked more clearly . SJDG has done a fantastic job promoting the sport in our area and taking care of our local courses. Looking forward to seeing these courses develop and my game improving too.

Stafford Woods is immediately different from the moment you drive in the parking lot. Tucked in a densely wooded drive, don't miss the turn because the sign pops out at the last moment. Once you park, there is a building and a bigger, more graffiti art Stafford Woods sign and some other info posted near by. Trash cans and a porto potty are also near the parking area. The first hole, and the 10th hole are just a short walk from there. The composition of the course changes from time to time. Much of it is wooded, and this is the feel on hole 1. Hole 2 is the same but longer, and the basket is atop a ridge that is a few steps higher than most of the fairway. Then on hole 3 you throw across a pond, that is blind from the long tee box. Climb that mound and get a look at the basket on the sloping bank on the opposite side before you drive. Hole 4 is more open and grassy, and the long grass to the left almost ate my Tee Bird, so watch out. The morning dew soaked my shoes and socks searching. Hole 5 really wide open, and 6 starts that way, but the basket is on a tall mound with a few trees scattered around it. Number 7 goes back across the pond, and the front nine finishes fully engulfed by the woods. The back nine also begins woodsy, but 10 is a good chance for a deuce. 11 is a long, twisting fairway, where elevation changes in contour is more noticeable, and hit me hard for a 7. 12 is short, but climbs a real hill. 12, 13, and 14 are all shorter, but wooded holes, and I scored another bird on 13. 15 tees out of the woods and crosses an expansive grass field before entering trees on the other side. 16 goes back across the grass, and the basket hangs in a tree, long but very wide open and straight forward. 17 takes you into the woods again for another long hole. I made a 3 thanks to a great drive. 18 finishes out with a shorter, dogleg left in heavy woods. I had a rough start, but was only 3 over par 66 at the end. One under on the back nine.

All of the baskets were in good shape, the long tees were concrete with signs, and the park was clean and trimmed well enough for me. A quality course certainly. Dog was finally able to break free of the leash here, and splash the pond scum like a champ.

Holes 5 and 16 were conventional and a bit bland, but served their purpose. The trees were overwhelming out of the box on hole 9. Throw and hope you make it through.

Stafford Woods had some good contrasting features, including water hazards, open to dense woods, with some nice elements of elevation change also. I liked it and was glad I chose to stop there. Not in the same class with some of the other courses in the region, but a good one for Jersey. Recommend it to any player who is nearby and hasn't made the trip yet. Fully deserving of the rating it has if you ask me.

You need a variety of shots to get through this course. I need to do overhead, rollers, forehand, and backhand. There was also a good balance of par 3's and par 4's, and a monster par 5 was also there! There were great baskets, new ones and the signage was great! The tee pads also had carpets on them on some holes for better footing, too. There were a lot of benches for resting after a long hole, and that was also a plus. There was good elevation, some were uphill, some downhill, and some straight. I LOVED hole 16, it was a 500 foot bomb and there was a hanging basket. It was a bit of a challenge because if you had a bad shot to the left, you could say bye to your disc (at least look for it first). There was a high rough on many holes to the left and right, but I thought it was good to have a little bit of a challenge. There were two water holes that weren't that hard, so I thought they were really fun because you had to go over water.

There were a lot of people, but I don't blame them because Stafford is a course that is so nice. Other that, no cons. This course was the bomb!

There are tournaments here so hopefully I can come to one, because this course was supreme!

Like my review title states. This course is a great mix of everything. The thing I think that I like the absolute most about this course is that it is so even when it comes to right and left handed favored holes. Great mix of wooded, moderately wooded, and open holes. The course is very well marked and there are two distinct 9 hole loops that start and finish near the parking area. Good basket locations, elevated holes and even a hanging basket. The hanging basket is actually in a great location and not just a 'gimmick'. Nice little pond where 2 holes throw over top of. Two layouts for each holes (for the most part).

The only cons I have for this course is the lack of elevation and not concrete tee pads. The parking situation is a bit tricky but doable and the entrance to the park is a bit hidden.

Great course. Would love to play more often but unfortunately I live 2 hours away. Will definitely be back to play if in the area. There is also a walking trail through the park if you are looking for something non disc golf related at the park.

The course offeres almost everything you could want in a DG course. A few strategically placed walls would make it incredibly difficult but so much fun. It uses the little elevation available well but could use more. With that said, very well done.

The course does have some danger spots with barbed wire so be careful. The parking lot needs to be improved. Also, for a newcomer, it could be a little challenging to navigate. I look forward to bigger tournaments here.

South Jersey Disc Golf is doing an amazing job of growing the sport. New courses are popping up and existing ones are expanding. Keep an eye out for future pros out of New Jersey!

Great course, very very wooded, yet open enough to drive a car around each hole, great mix of hyzer and anhyzer shots needed to play well. Two pretty cool water hazards that give some risk/reward points, I almost holed the 2nd water hole !

Plenty of longer holes to open up on, yet plenty of technical holes that challenge every part of the game.

Well kept, awesome signage, never once got lost, woods are very bare so tossing a disc off the beaten path turned out being very easy to find throughout all 18 holes

I can't wait to go back again with friends, two tee box options per hole. A+

#1 pro for me is that I live .7 miles from the 1st tee. with that having been said, this is my new 'home course'.
#1- nice 1st hole with a slight dogleg right that gives you a taste of just how thick the rough (the trees) may be.
#2- 1st par4 on the course. long gradual bend to the right with a sharp dogleg right at the end.
#3- our introduction to the Stafford pond. the tee has a mound about 20' off the front, upon which is the short tee, which makes for a challenging drive. watch for that pond, we'll be seeing it again soon.
#4- the 2nd par4 allows for a huge righty backhand that could set you up for an easy layup and tap-in birdie, albeit the few trees along this fairway don't come into play for you.
#5- field hole. big arms need only apply for the birdie. beautiful hole. take the time to soak up the scenery walking down this fairway, good chance on seeing the deer heard that roams these woods.
#6- par4 field hole. line of trees down the left side and tall grass down the right. the field ends about 75' before the elevated green.
#7- back across the pond. there is a wicked tunnel that leads up to the waters edge, 300' to the green that is perched on a slope so watch for the roll away into the hazard.
#8- par4 back in the woods with a narrow fairway that doglegs left with more then a few guardians at the turn making an approach to the green challenging.
#9- early dogleg right with two separate lines from which to choose. it's more difficult then it looks because those flight paths are thin.
#10- short straight very narrow fairway. watch that rough, tons of mountain laurel.
#11- par5 double dogleg. small left turn that leads to a sharper right turn that still leaves you just shy of 200' to the basket. beautiful hole.
#12- elevation comes into play here. it plays much farther then it actually is. gradual left turn at the top of the hill will put you on the green.
#13- elevated tee box that's not to much higher then the chains but just enough to affect your drive.
#14- left turning fairway with the thickest mountain laurel at Stafford all along the left and right side of the fairway.
#15- par4 starts in the woods, plays into the field and ultimately back into the woods. chains may be difficult to find if this is your 1st time. chains are just down the slope in the far back left corner of the field.
#16- par4 field hole with a hanging basket. again, enjoy the view of the field for we will be heading back into the woods.
#17- par4 initial fairway is narrow but it opens up once you break through the treeline. another lefty friendly fairway but wide open for a good enough backhand.
#18- nice hard dogleg left finishing hole. some seriously thick rough, crazy amounts of mountain laurel out here, on the left side.

the parking situation is being sorted out. it's a new course, how can there be any cons???

so much potential for this course. it's still in it's infancy but it is growing exponentially. great things to come from this premier course in the future.

-Great variety in the first 9 holes, wooded, open, and a water hazard (pond on 2 wholes).
-Well designed on the available land.
-Long and short tees for most holes.
-Close to major highways. Plenty of places to eat around the park.
-Nice signage

-No trashcans throughout the course.
-Used to be farmland, old rusty barbed wire in some areas that you can't see until you're right on it be careful.

Well worth a trip out to voorhees, I could play this course all day long.

UPDATE: The back 9 baskets were put in, this course has it all now! If you haven't been here before make sure you find your way here soon. Adam and the South Jersey crew out did themselves, my hat is off to those guys.

I loved the rounds I've played here. It's well maintained, good mix of layout, woods/water/field/OB hazards, making for a challenging round of DG. Chainstar baskets are great. Nice design in a compact area. I understand they may be putting in 9 more holes...BRAVO if they do...I love playing here..wish it was closer.

Tee pads are in need of some serious raking. I wish more courses would have some rakes for the players to use...we'd keep them raked

18 chainstar baskets with mix of tees and pin positions. Tees vary from pavers to carpet and rubber, I assume they will be more uniform as the course matures. Signage and navigation are excellent. Great variety and balance of hole lengths and challenges. Par 3 and 4 technical shots through the woods of varying fairness, over water and mounds and pits. Couple long bombs in the field with tricky approaches and fast greens. Phenomenal use of the available land and terrain. Very little underbrush and well maintained course.

Not much really, just beware the driveway is a little dangerous being single lane only from busy street. I had to back into the parking twice for cars coming into the park, and once I got to the entrance I didn't even consider turning left for safety reasons and U-turned up the road, and cars stopped on the busy road as another car wanted to come into the park. Parking is also fairly limited and tight. Nit picking here some holes play a little close to each other. Decent chance of losing a disc in the pond on both holes that play over it.

The Stafford Woods course is blast to play and fairly fast! It has pretty much everything you could ask for out of a course and the variety is off the charts. The course just flows and transitions from the woods to open to a near perfect blend. I generally prefer lots of elevation, but Stafford Woods has actually got some decent elevation changes for south Jersey and nice mounds and pits. I will not hesitate to play this course again when I'm passing through the area and highly recommend to anyone!

This course has so much going for it; tight but fair fairways on the wooded holes, length where appropriate, interesting layout, tough and fast greens (I was told that might change due to erosion issues), fun.

Great baskets.

Parking and park entrance need to be addressed. It was quite difficult to turn across traffic to enter park. Tee areas are small and with any amount of use will could become slipping hazards. I am not a fan of the gravel tee areas, the type of gravel was loose and not very well contained. Tee signs were ok, but for someone not familiar with the course, determining the exact pin location was difficult.

All-in-all this course was so fun to play. I will definitely, be back for more.

Very challenging 18-hole course on a large piece of township property. Two practice baskets sit at the front of the course. Good variety with a combination of both open and wooded holes. Quality chain star baskets. Dual tee pads at each hole. Good use of available elevation, and water comes into play on two holes. Navigation easy with distinctive pathways and nice metallic yellow "next tee" markers showing you the way. Good signage, log or cement benches and two tee pads at each hole. Varied distances and good for all levels of play. Hole 15 (nice open field shot to a basket tucked into the woods on a slope), hole 7 (shooting a gap over water to an elevated basket), hole 17 (nice downhill wooded shot through a gap) and hole 6 (basket perched on a multi-tiered platform) are highlights. The alteration of hole 5- already a good hole, is nonetheless a positive change, making it a true par 4. Amenities like food and gas are close by and a porta-potty is on site, as is a good sized lost disc box.

Not many. Ticks and mosquitoes can be a factor. Errant shots around the water and in surrounding high grass can result in disc loss. The left turn entrance to the property off a busy main drag remains dangerous- I understand not much more can be done- but use that turn signal a considerable distance before you turn. I'm not entirely sold on the hole 18 basket change- I find it a difficult par 3 and thought the basket was fine in its original position.

Stafford is a first rate venue. The relative ease of hole 1 lulls you into a false sense of security and is not indicative of the challenge you'll receive here. This is a tough exercise in disc golf-especially from the long tees- and you'll earn any good score you get.There is considerable work that has gone into this course, and tremendous improvements have been made over the years by a dedicated group of people. Many of the most recent basket position changes enhance the play.

The variety featured here is a plus, with wooded holes, open holes, short and long holes, a hanging basket and interesting pin placements. I don't know if there is one true signature hole, but several could qualify as such.

Stafford is a top NJ course and a must play for the serious disc golfer.

-Well thought out tee and basket placement on most holes

-Multiple tee and basket locations

-Chainstar baskets (MY FAV!)

-Good mix of open and wooded holes

-OB and Water Hazards come in to play often

-Dirt tee pads that often have divots

-Fairways on the wooded holes still need a lot clearing

-The hole signage is not very accurate. Also, the hole distance lettering takes up more real estate on the sign than the actual map!! WTF?!?

-I saw a fair amount of trash and recycling out on the course, especially around the "pond" area. (More trash cans are definitely needed)

-Very limited parking. Maybe 15 vehicles tops?

-The course entrance needs a larger sign out front. Really easy to miss on a first visit.

-Ticks galore!

-Only 9 holes

Hole 1 - The course starts with a short wooded fairway. A very straight forward hole, which reminded me of the back 9 at Sedgley Woods.

Hole 2 - A long, somewhat laborious, wooded hole. 2 to 3 straight accurate throws should get you in putting range of the basket on the right. Beware of getting caught in the "shit" to the left or right of the fairway.

Hole 3 - I'm calling this hole the Chris Christie, because of its insatiable appetite for discs. The tee pad is approx. 50 feet behind a 15 foot tall mound of dirt. You have to navigate your disc between the dirt mound (aka Christie's Pot Belly) and the overhanging branches just above, all while making sure to get the distance to make it over the pond. The basket sits about 30 feet high on the other side of the pond. A missed putt here will cost you dearly.

Hole 4 - This hole opens up to a mixed wooded area with lots of tall grass and a very nice scenic view. Accuracy will be rewarded here. A well placed shot landing just before the tall grass will open up a second throw straight to the basket tucked back in the trees to the left. There is a small ravine between the tall grass and basket on the left hand side, which I would avoid at all costs.

Hole 5 - The first true "field hole." Wind comes into play, but if you have a big arm you should be able to get there in 1. The fairway is well maintained, but watch out for the tall grass to either side.

Hole 6 - Another field hole that is much longer than the previous. The fairway is wide with trees to the left, and tall grass to the right. The hole finishes in a raised wooded area, with nice bulk head style steps that also act as a good landing pad.

Hole 7 - The course loops back around to the same pond seen at hole 3. A long straight low flying shot should get you to the other side of the pond with no problem. This hole definitely has ace potential!

Hole 8 - From here, the course brings you back to the wooded area for a hole that has a sharp dog leg left. A narrow fairway is met by a clump of trees that you will be lucky to get through. The basket is tucked behind a small grouping of trees at the far left.

Hole 9 - Another wooded hole where you will have to execute a very accurate shot to get through the clumping of trees in the center, though I'd say luck has more to do it. Cutting down some trees on the left hand side could really make this hole interesting and give the player the option of busting out a nice flick roller.

Final Thoughts - I do not feel the majority of reviews for this course are very honest. I'm as excited as everyone else for the opportunity to play a legit disc golf course so close to my home, but I do not feel that excitement should overshadow some glaring flaws. I realize this course is a work in progress (and believe me I am very appreciative of the work that has been put forward so far), but the only way to make the course better is with honest constructive criticism.

Final Final Thoughts - This course is a mixed bag. Holes 3-7 are near perfect, and offer an exhilarating experience at almost every turn. Holes 1-2 need some variety. A well placed double stack of logs on either side of hole 1 or 2, forcing the player to throw a narrow tunnel shot, could be a nice addition. A dog leg left with a clear path to the basket and a mando at the turn could really spice things up on 8. The same could be done on 9, going the opposite direction. Addressing these concerns combined with the cons listed above could turn this course into something very special. Stafford Woods has amazing potential!

PS - Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Kibitz Room at the corner of Springdale and Evesham Roads. Great sandwiches with the best pickle bar in South Jersey.

The course is beautiful and fun to play. It tests a variety of shots, from tight wooded lines to wide open distance drives. The course is relatively fair, if you miss your lines you are punished, while hitting the correct lines allow birdies. The course boasts seven par 4s and one par 5 in the current layout, and two shots over water, so strategy and risk/reward comes into play on many holes. The small amount of elevation is used well, and the hanging basket on hole 16 is interesting. The gold tees play at about a blue level, so a 950 rated player should expect to shoot close to par. The recent additions of beautiful tee signs add a nice touch!

I think that some of the shorter par 3s on the back nine get a little repetitive and don't flow well with the rest of the course. I would also like to see a few more opportunities for risk-reward decisions in the woods, relying on multiple lines or fairways on some holes. Ticks are a common occurrence, so make sure to check yourself when you get home!

This course is constantly improving and will keep getting better for years. Adam and the SJDG crew do a great job here. I uploaded photos for the course as an addition to my review!

Great Mix of woods, water, open holes. High canopy, no underbrush. Not too tight, but tight enough to be fun. Discs are easy to find. Some fast greens.

Traffic to get there can be a pain, but hey, that's NJ for you.

Well kept course,well marked and more of a challenge now that trees have foliage. Can't wait for the back nine. The water holes have claimed a few of my discs no fault of the course just my bad play.Love this course, the new tee pads are great.This is a well maintained course and always fun to play.

Bring you bug spray ticks are out but that is anywhere that there is woods.Parking lot needs to be expanded but hear that will be done soon.

The course has had some updates since I last reviewed it. Parking lot has been expanded and can accommodate many cars now, the driveway is much better, a lost disc box has been installed, a port-a-potty is also there, and the back 9 is almost ready!

Great course to test all different types of shots. Right from the 1st hole you get a challenging hole that was even fun for me as a beginner. The water in play is just enough not to overwhelm but still adds a great challenge.

A few open holes in the middle gives you a great chance to test out your long drives.

As a beginner looking at the map I was a little intimidated, but after the 2nd hole I realized it was a great course with just the right amount of difficulty.

The course should be challenging for experienced players too. The multiple tee spots gives you a chance to play some challenging drives.

Signage is perfect too. It was easy to follow this course and find the different tees.

The only con may be that it's 9 holes. This isn't really a bad thing though since it's a great place to get a quick round in after work before the sunsets.

Nature will do it's thing also. Wet, muddy and lots of bugs, but that's just part of the game.

This really is a 4.5 (possibly 5) course that almost nothing wrong with it.

I plan on making this my go to course for a round after work. A few groups were out playing and everyone was extremely friendly. Provided enough challenge while being a great time.

This 9 holer has a great combo of open fields to rip long drives and wooded holes to test your accuracy, line strategy, not to mention patience. Good use of the small pond to raise the level of difficulty and think twice about your shots. Dual tees make a nice 18 holer if you have the time. Very well kept and has good signage.

Not too much on the negative side, except parking. It seems if you catch it on a busy day you have trouble finding a place to put the wheels. Lost a few discs in the pond, but that's player error. Great course!

Hoping for the next 9 to be put in soon (the sign to tee 10 is a tease!)

I am from GA and really enjoyed this course. It is challenging and requires some good shots to score well. I like the way the 9 holer was laid out and that some of the tee shots from the longer pads were pretty risky. The two teepads were also a different enough shot to warrant playing both sets of pads for a 18 hole layout. Hole 1 and 9 were right beside each other and course flows was good throughout, The signs were okay.

I did get confused somewhat with it being my first time out here, but logic landed me the upper hand when figuring out where to throw to.

They do not have concrete pads here but I do not view that as a negative. It just is what it is, The natural pads were level and clean. I enjoyed this course and its nice to know my wife's grandparent house is 5 miles from a good course as opposed to 25+!!! Kudos to the designer, good job!

- Since I have just started playing, this course has been really great in helping me develop my game. There are a few holes where you can really launch it, but for the most part the holes require a good amount of finesse. This is great for beginners who should learn accuracy before distance and also should be a hit for experienced throwers too.

- Great signage for each hole.

This seems to be a well thought out course and really takes you through a lovely, little used park in South Jersey

- Ticks. This is not necessarily a course problem but more of an area problem. Bring spray and do a check for any hitchhikers before you leave.

- Parking and signage for the course from the roadway are a little rough, but from my understanding will be improved in the future

- Random trees that jump in front of your discs

I cant wait to see this turn into a 18 hole course in the near future.
