- ...Those tee signs are only at the long tees. Somebody playing a shorter layout will need to find that long tee first to get the information they want.
- The course is mostly flat and has just a few noteworthy features.
- It's not a very engaging course. Few things about it reached out and grabbed me.

It was a mistake to play The TRAXX during a light rain on a chilly mid-autumn morning, but that was the only day I would be this way for a long time. Watch out for slick and muddy areas in the days after (and especially during) rain.

The TRAXX, so named for the railroad tracks that pass right by the course along links11-15, is a well-designed course that makes the most of the land it was allocated. I know that sounds like I'm damning it with faint praise, so let me skip to the end for a moment. This course gets a gentle recommendation for its variety and execution thanks to its water features, infrastructure and manageable difficulty.

Rainy morning or not, the terrain is still the same. It's not the flattest course I've played, but it's close. I enjoyed playing links7 and 8 the most because those were the only ones with any degree of appreciable elevation. Plus, they had the densest tree cover in the entire course. The rest of the links did have trees but more in that open 'park-style' sort of way. The circuit is a nice walk with some peaceful sights. Link6 looked the most attractive to my mind because of its woodsy hallway away from everything else.
Honorable mentions to links10 and 17 for incoporating Lake Charles, though it more resembles a big pond, into their fairways. (Incidentally, if anybody finds an orange Innova Gator at the bottom of the pond on link10, they can keep it. I've long since replaced it!) Furthermore, there is a nice creek to be wary of alongside two or three of the fairways near the end. They are just brief stints of tension, but I was glad to experience them.


In terms of unpleasant aspects, I didn't enjoy throwing so close to parking lots like in the case of links4 and 5, the park road as with link5 and walking trails as seen in link17. There are also sports fields closeby to some of the fairways. One bad gust of wind during a game, and you might have problems...? I had the course all to myself on that rainy morning, but I can easily picture this park filling up on a pleasant day, and we all know how much dog-walkers love going off the beaten paths. So just be mindful and cautious. I didn't enjoy its largely flat profile. As I mentioned earlier, it has precious little elevation. But unfortunately the tree cover is similarly anemic. TRAXX doesn't throw much at the player to really test their woods navigation and elevation management. From my viewpoint, TRAXX averages on the dull side.

But to put everything into perspective, I do want to say that TRAXX resembles a fine training ground for those budding players who are ready to deal with water hazards, gentle elevation and other OB concerns. For my time and other experienced players, you should know that it's not brilliant, but it's a well put together course of 18 links. If you can forgive the simplicity and straightforward nature of most of the fairways, you will find yourself having a decent time at TRAXX.
Gently recommended.

Beautiful piece of property, with varied topography and water in play on several holes.

Plentiful parking close to first tee and 18th basket (which are close together).

Good course map, solid and well-maintained tee pads. DGA Mach X baskets in good shape, with two baskets in the ground for each hole and two tees for each hole.
This allows for a variety of options to adjust the course easier and harder and just to experience different challenges, for those who will play the course many times.

The course flows well and intuitively, with mostly holes that are somewhat wooded with key trees to be avoided, plus a few very wooded holes, which are also the holes with the most elevation change. Those were definitely my favorite holes on the course.

Back nine holes have grassy and forgiving fairways, though precise shots are needed to score well.

On most of the holes (or possibly on all of them, I didn't make a point to check, at first), there is only a tee sign at one of the two tee pads.

A few low-lying areas were very muddy and had standing water. I was traveling through the area, so I don't know how much rain was needed to create this situation.

If the park were crowded, at least one or two holes may need to be skipped, as they play close to ball fields and throw over a pond that even early on a weekday morning had walking traffic.

This is a city park with other nearby amenities.

I enjoyed the beauty, variety, and challenge of this course. It is close to the interstate and provided a great stop on the drive through the area.

I first played the original 9 hole pitch and putt course years ago, I even did a review of that course.

What an improvement, 100% total redone with some great disc golf holes.

Several holes can be made long enough for two shot par 4 holes. There are several that would only be a 2 for a top pro. But for us weenie arms, it is a 3 at best.

I really only have issues with a couple of the holes, Hole 4 is just too close to the parking lot. Hole 5 is throwing over the edge of the road, but is a great long hole in the long position with the basket tucked way in the back.

Then you get into the heavy wooded section. Most of these hole are accuracy holes to get a 2 or easy 3.

Sorry my battery on my phone died on hole 8, I didn't get any pictures after that. The back 9 are mostly more open shots with a few having a creek coming into play. The best holes on the course are all on the front 9.

The course has a decent flow for the most part, there is a spot or two where you have to walk a little farther tha I would like to see to get to the next hole.

Would I play here again? Yes, this is a great course worth playing. It's not that far off the interstate and along with a few other great courses in the Little Rock area, this one is worth a stop too.

* 2 Concrete tee pads for each hole.
* Good signage - easy to navigate.
* Challenging for most levels of players.
* Not likely to encounter other park users except in one or two places - safe.
* Nice bridges over the creek that winds through.
* Lost and found dropbox near 1st tee. Park staff manage it well.
* Baskets moved between positions most holes about once every other month or so.
* Decent amount of trash cans around the course that are emptied when needed.
* Pretty involved park staff. Active on Facebook page for the course. Course generally well maintained and discs for sale at The Center.
* Good community of local players (IMHO).
* Nice facilities within the same park (The Center).

* Can be muddy after rain - some low lying areas.
* Heavy leaves in Autumn in some areas - watch your discs.
* Hurricane Creek (in play on several holes on the back 9) is deep and fast-flowing enough that you may not be able to recover discs. Could even be dangerous to try after decent rains as the creek can really flow.
* Private property across Hurricane Creek - do respect the owner's rights please.
* Limited elevation changes - only holes 6,7,8 have any, but the course works well with the land given.
* Facilities (restrooms) are at The Center which is some distance (1/4 mile) from the first tee. No restroom facilities on the course per se.
* Don't speed on Boone Road - Bryant PD working to keep speeding down on this road.

This is my local course and where I learned to play. I have tried to remain unbiased.
This is one of those courses you might take for granted at first, but later realize how nice it really is. Well laid-out, no holes get too near others, no artificial OB and only a couple of mandos, nice tee pads, good signage, logical flow from hole to hole.
This isn't too far from I-30 and close enough to play if you were just passing through the LR area. Restaurants closer to the freeway and hotels there too.
TRAXX is certainly a staple in the DG community of LR.

Tucked away in the corner of a park beyond baseball fields but before the mysterious Alcoa property next door, this is a nice piece of work. The infrastructure is all very good. Two concrete tees on most holes. Bridges across the streams and ravines. Tee signs listing the distances from the two tees to the different basket locations and (I don't see this often) a changeable letter on each sign to indicate which tee position was in place.

The early holes play among the tall trees in a typical but pleasant park setting. It transitions to the woods for a few holes and has the only part of the course with any elevation. Hole 8 was the best. While I played the short tees, I accidentally teed the long one here and loved the long blast downhill to a basket situated near a creek. The course then moves to some open and semi-open holes on the other side of the lake.

Water comes into play on 3-4 holes.

Navigation was pretty good. I consulted the map a few times.

Most of the course is pretty flat. A few of the later holes felt a little ordinary, just open shots with little to get in the way.

Hole 11 had some potential: a short fairway with murky water on the right, trees on the left, and a railroad trestle in the back. But the tee position in use was a bizarre elevated basket behind some thick trees with seemingly no realistic line to the basket without throwing beyond the basket and taking a boring layup back to the basket. I dunno. Maybe I needed to play it more to figure it out.

Credit to the designers here. Some of the longer basket positions (which weren't in use when I played) looked creative and challenging, planned by someone determined to maximize the potential of this piece of land.

This is a brand new course to the Little Rock area and well worth the trip to play. It is clear that a lot of time, money and thought went into this course.
Several holes play next to an OB creek which adds a nice challenge. I played when it was dry and am waiting to go back after a good rain.
There are a lot of course variations from open to wooded, over water and some dog legs. Nice mix of long and short holes.
The tee pads are exceptional. They are large and very level. Having short and long tee pads gives the player good options.
The course also flows very well. It is easy to find the next hole and the baskets clearly point to their location.
There are two very substantial bridges that take the player over the creek to either the basket or the next hole.
Tee box signs are clearly marked.

Not much wrong with this course. However, once the creeks rise, there may be another bridge or two needed to cross in the dry.
The course map at the beginning is great, but would be a little easier to visualize if it were inverted.

In my opinion, one of the top five courses in the state!

Played in rain and course did not get overly muddy.

Designer place the pin position on the hole information which is very handy.

Holes very long (350+) for large majority, some good obstacles.
2 holes over the water require 250+ plus to clear, #17 is a challenge when you have a head wind. Course layout uses property nicely. Couple high baskets which is fun when used sparingly.
Park is quiet and not a ton of foot traffic.

OB is challenging but not cubersome. Creek area is great

Not overly negative but holes can feel like your playing same hole over and over. Most baskets were straight ahead, the two 700ft holes were straight ahead shots, with no real obstacles, other than OB creek on one side.

There is a soccer field along #12 and when there is a game going errant throws can land close to crowd.

fun course and worth a stop when traveling thru Little Rock Metro.
