This is a challenging course with great vertical variety. Oak savanna, forest, lake-shore, and loess hill ecosystems are in play. Tee #3 plays down a sledding hill with an 80-foot drop covering 700 feet. Tee #6 has a ravine with running water at times and dense woods to negotiate. Tee #7 has a "high road" or "low road" option. Tee #9 presents an uphill right-turning dog leg. While advanced, the course is welcoming to early-level players due to an innovative accommodation (see "Links/Files" > Homepage > menu Code & Rules). There is a 550-foot flat driving range. The practice basket allows shots from below or on the level. Located in a county park with a nature center, cabins, RV camping, fishing, beach, restrooms, and a paved 4-mile hiking/biking trail loop from lake to town.

The 3rd left exit (.5 mi) is to a restroom, Woodland Shelter, and tee #4. The 4th left exit (.8 mi) is to the beach, driving range, and practice basket.
