My friends and I are planning a DG roadtrip in March and we are trying to go somewhere warm and that would be (obviously) south of Michigan. We were thinking about the GA area. Anyone have any good areas or courses we should hit up? It might be a week long trip so we could play alot of courses.

You guys would be fools to not visit the Charlotte area. There are so many great courses there... Renny, Hornett's, Sugaw, Kilborne, etc... and Rock Hill SC is closeby with the USDGC Course Winthrop Gold.
Other areas would be the Greenvills SC area, Asheville NC, Johnson City Tenn, Knoxville Tenn.
Have fun... Lot's of great stuff down here.

Absolutely... Bud Hill is in my Top 10. It is a phenomanal private course.
And, there are two other really good courses only 8 miles away (Meeman-Shelby State Park).

charlotte has best selection of courses for sure.
pittsburgh is right up there but maybe not far enough south for you.
we have a few nice ones in a small area in spotsylvania, va.
IDGC in georgia has 4 on site as well as the dg hall of fame.

Definitely, These two are about 15 minutes from each other. Well worth it, if you are coming down in the area. If you can catch the Sarge on a colder day, you'll be less likely to have to deal with bugs.
The Sarge (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=2498) in Hardeeville, SC
Tom Triplett (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=925) in Savannah, Ga

This course is a blast. This is the only of the course I had time to play while there, but I know they have at least 2 more courses right on site, there maybe even be a fourth course there by now. They also have a great practice putting area and a pro shop and museum. I would highly recommend stopping by if end up close to it.

What's the weather like mid March in the Carolinas or Georgia?

Perfect, although it can be rainy, which could make one want to pass on the sarge. But in march, it's nice, it's still cool, but nothing compared to Michigan. The bugs aren't as bad. Heck, it'll probably fell like summer to you! lol

Columbia, SC, mid-March, average high 71, average low 46
You're aiming for a pretty wide area. Charlotte, NC and Augusta, GA each have a bunch of fine courses, nice if you're in a 3- or 4- course-a-day mood. If you want to do more playing than driving, I suggest you aim for one or both of these, and pick up other courses in between or on the way.

More on the weather....
If you're really intent on getting a break from Michigan winter, you should aim for NC - SC - GA. Much warmer that time of year east of the mountains. Draw a line from Atlanta to Savannah and make that your limit; past there, you have to go to mid-Florida to find lots more good courses. Worries about the rain are overblown; it COULD rain just about anywhere, but it's not especially rainy at that time.
Like everyone else, I'll extend an invitation. Visit us at Stoney Hill in Newberry, 1½ - 2 hours from either Charlotte or Augusta. We'd love to show you around.
