Thought you guys would like this vid as it shows the top of the hill at Flip City last month as the leaves are almost off the trees. Gives you pretty decent look at the layout of the "turning point" of Flip.
Things to notice:
-shot at the the top of the hill after hole 11(rock sculpture hole). First fairway you see in vid. Tee at top of the far hill to right.
-this is where you choose to play 18, or 24, as tees 12 and 1a are here.
-tee 12 is first tee you see, basket across valley.
-tee 1a is what you see next after stone "Flip City". The shot is down hill, across rock creek, and between the V tree.
-elongated tee pads with foul lines. Still the best tees I have ever shot from.
-my Brazilian 8 year old nephew and his dad playing DG for their first time. leaving his mark in Portuguese. One of three spots in the park where leaving your mark is encouraged.
-Both were playing the pro tees with me. You can see their scores through 12. Not bad. Mine blew as I was teaching and playing at the same time. ;-)
...hope you enjoy.

I'll look out for that when I visit in the spring. Is that your Bud, or are you allowing the kid to drink as well as graffiti picnic tables?
Show some more of the course, itself, if ya can. Enquiring minds wanna know...

Envious you are still playing Flip this late in the year.
If you ain't wearing hunter orange this time of the year you may end up as a trophy on Bills wall!
And you GET it. :-)
...don't forget to review Flip in the review section.

NICE! Next time I up there(35 mins from home), I'll sign "I saw this video on dgcoursereview.com".
I'm kinda pissed that I had classes late on Wednesday nights, so I couldn't make leagues this year.
Just had to settle on McGraft park on Mondays.
There are a few place to leave your mark, the next video should come from the shelter at alternate #2 teebox. This course is by definition, user friendly.

"You lughee, lughee bastard. Oh, to be spattered upon the face."
Sorry if you're not a Monty Python fan, but Jon "The Barber" would tell you to skip class and play more dg.

Seriously, #2 vs #1, I just don't get what the big deal is.
I don't live there, so it must be some serious pride stuff going on.

come on seriously, does it have to be explained it again?
it's a joke. humorous.light hearted.
I'm thinking that "some" disc golfers here have left their sense of humor in a lake along with a shanked disc.

BROTHER PAALEEEEEASE. I am such a goof! I am so bad at forgetting that damn little winky face sometimes. This joke was totally my bad sense of sarcasm gone wrong. Maybe I should just habit out the *jk* thing more often. I'll get it right one of these days. I actually find the idlewild /flipcity thing hilarious! Sorry bro!

peer pressure? that's what is considered peer pressure in your dictionary?
There are some pretty poor reviews on there. Wouldn't you expect a few thumbs down to not being a helpful review? Or do you just look for negativity to comment on?

There is a lot of thumbs down there. The audience for a Flip CIty review cant be pleased nor does the typical Flip reviewer spend more than two minutes on the subject.

A lot of poor reviews on there. I'm just not used to seeing that many thumbs down on the courses at which I typically look.

...then this site's "thumb down" review system has done it's job,
at least in your case.

Hey Tom, How far is it from Chicago to Flip? What is the earliest that one could play Flip without having to dig in the snow for their disc?

Chicago to Flip is a three hour drive(from where I am at now in Milwaukee it's a five hour drive)...and the snow usually melts for good in April. The best time to play, without a doubt, is late May, June when everything is green or wait till the fall for the colors.
If it's flying you are considering, Grand Rapids is the closet major airport, and then it's only an hour away.
I just watched a vid on You Tube where these guys rented a limo from Chitown to Flip. That would rock! Although a limo would stick out like a sore thumb in Shelby, Mi. :-)

Thanks, unfortunately I’m not in the market for renting limos like that. I just looked up prices for flights to Grand Rapids vs. Chicago it like ½ the price to Chicago. Besides I plan on making a whole trip out of it. A three hour drive ain’t ****, I just wish I could be more like Innovadude and keep on truckin.

I wasn't talking about negative reviews of the course. The place has been in on my WishList for a while now. I was referring to the number of poorly written reviews. Tourist was right: a significant number of 2 minutes jobs.

If you do the Chicago fly in here would be my suggestion.
Rent a car, drive 94 stop at Vaparasio,IN on the way for a quick round, then go directly to Flip via 31. If you have time, drive another 45 minutes north to the Mason County Park courses, then another 10 minutes north to Leviathan. You will be on 31 the whole way.

If you fly into Chicago don't forget to call me when you're coming so I can meet you at Shelby. Hell, I'll take off from work. And yeah, you don't really want to come here until at least late April.
