What is the tier???

Hi im new to disc golf and was wondering what does tier mean. I see if from nt,a,d,c,b can anyone help a noob out??? Is one of these for amatures if so what is it?

Well, if you listen to Rammstien, the song "Tier" means animal. But I think this is a totally different animal all together.

As Oakley would say at this point: I need new writers...becasue this one was bad.

Oh yeah, and they use the terms "Super Tier" and "A-Tier" interchangeably. I've already dropped them a note that they should pick one term and stick with it to avoid confusion.

ACK! You got me.

SEE PDGA... it IS confusing. National Tour events fall under "NT" tier, but Super Tour events are "A" tier? :confused:

So I went to all the trouble of searching to find this thread, so I wouldn't have to ask again...and the link provided doesn't work anymore...so now I don't know what the diff between tiers is anymore!

The higher the Tier, the higher the entry fee (usually), payout (usually), PDGA points earning potential, and in general the higher the "prestige" (formality, amenities, publicity, etc).
