This is tentatively planned for early May. Nothing firm about the dates or route, so I'd welcome any suggestions.

Sun 5/2 - drive from Hutchinson, KS to Joplin, MO
Mon 5/3 - drive from Joplin , MO to Ft. Smith, AR
Tue 5/4 - stay in Ft. Smith area
Wed 5/5 - drive from Ft. Smith to Shreveport, LA
Thu 5/6 - stay in Shreveport area
Fri 5/7 - drive from Shreveport to Tyler, TX
Sat 5/8 - drive from Tyler to Duncanville, TX (south side of Dallas)
Sun 5/9 - stay along south side of Dallas
Mon 5/10 - move to north side suburb (Lewisville/Plano/McKinney) not sure yet
Tue 5/11 - stay along north side of Dallas
Wed 5/12 - drive from Dallas area to Oklahoma City, OK
Thu 5/13 - drive home

I'm pretty good with the Kansas/Oklahoma options (I can get to those any weekend), and have a good clue of what to play in Dallas, but Western Arkansas, NW Louisiana and East Texas are virgin territory. Any good eateries you could recommend would be great too. TIA.

Tyler has Lindsey which has 54 holes in one location now, I also like The Roc which is 18. Shreveport has several courses one of which you can actually play at night (Clyde Fant) which could come in handy with your travel arrangements.

Lazarre Park in West Monroe, LA has 2 courses that are well cared for and fun to play. Not far from the interstate, but tucked into a neighborhood. It borders the Ouachita River, and a couple holes make use of it as OB.

Ruston, LA is halfway between Monroe and Shreveport on I-20 and has an 18-hole course called Hideaway Park on the campus of Louisiana Tech. It's about 5-minutes (if that) off the interstate. It's short (200-300 ft. holes) wooded and slightly technical. Depending on when you go though there may be a bunch of students out there and there's a little bit of hole overlap/crossing fairways.

Clyde Fant in Shreveport is literally in the (very wide) median of Clyde Fant Pkwy. It's not difficult but is 27 holes and the entire course is lit so you can play at night. Just south of I-20, easy to get to.

When I passed through Tyler I played Lindsey Park. The slight elevation changes and strategic pin placements made it fun for me. I think I played the "Red" course but can't remember for sure.

Hope this helps
