I was thinking about getting one of these to keep in the trunk of my car, because I live and work near some nice greenspaces that don't have disc golf.

It's all plastic. The shipping weight is listed at a light 20 lbs--good for carrying into parks or woods. It looks enough like a typical basket. The cost is low. Does anybody have any experience with this target?

Forgive me if this has been covered recently. I'm new to the forum. Thanks.

I've got one, and I'm sure there are better portable baskets out there. I don't think it would be all that easy to take apart and put back together constantly, also, it would take up a good bit of space in your car. On a side note, it does catch pretty well, and is pretty lightweight. The chains, however, aren't terribly durable, and the basket has big gaps that discs will fall through.

Thank you so much for the valuable information, and the welcome!

The Skill Shot Target is definitely light, but it doesn't seem to replicate anywhere near a standard basket. I'll have to keep researching.

Try the mach lite basket. It is the most portable real basket i have ever encountered.

This. I carry my two Mach Lites around, and have taken them lots of places to make my own course. They go up and down extremely easy, and are very easy to carry around in their bags. They do a good job of replicating a real basket on the course, both in look and how they catch (though you may get more spit throughs with the mach lite depending on how you putt), and they're very sturdy and durable.

Mach lites are probably the best...if you don't want to spend the money...get the Instep one.

Thanks everyone!! Seriously. I'll be saving up my money for a possible mach-lite purchase.
