In the Idlewild area, definitely play Banklick and Mt. Airy while you're there, both are really fun courses.
Although I have no experience with any of the courses, the Louisville/Bowling Green area has a lot of courses, including the very well rated Holler in the Hills. And that would be "kind of" in the path South from Cincy. Just a thought.

Charlotte,NC has some incredible courses, and the new IDGC in Augusta, Ga has numerous courses, along with several other courses in/around Augusta.

You don't say how far south you're heading but if it's Deep South, and you're coming in June or July, you'll be getting the full summer experience.
How much time are you taking, how far are you going? Through the Carolinas? To Florida? The Gulf Coast? Or just as far as Kentucky/Tennesee?

KY would mean a lot less driving time and a lot more discin' time.
