Anybody have any good experiences with staying overnight at or extremely near a quality disc golf course?

Camping, cabins, or even safe, low-cost hotels right on top of a course....let's hear all about it!

I'm looking for Carolinas courses primarily, but if you've had an awesome experience somewhere else, let's hear that too!!

Thanks.

The PDGA HQ at the IDGC on the SC/GA border. Inexpensive camping in the park right next to the Warner course. Three Championship courses on the site with a pro shop and the Hall of Fame museum.

Well, I know I'll sound like a stuck record saying this. There are a ton of hotels near Savannah and Charleston.

Savannah has two good courses nearby, a third just outside of Savannah.
Tom Triplett and The Sarge are two great courses that are about 15 minutes apart.

Charleston has 3 accessible courses as well.
Park Circle
Trophy Lakes
Ashley Creek

There are plenty of Overnight Hotels between the two cities, and Charleston and Savannah are only about 2 hours apart. But there would be 2 full days of DG for you.

There are actually 5 courses in Charleston, but 2 of them are not accessible to the public. Ones on a Military Base the other is on the Charleston Southern Campus. From what I've read, they aren't anything to write home about.

Fontana Village has cabins of various sizes and a hotel, reasonably priced in the offseason. Walk from your cabin on to the course, which is a pretty good one. All set DEEP in the Smoky Mountains in western NC.

Stoney Hill allows camping on the course. Lots of peace & quiet, some nice views from hilltop camping areas. Pretty good course, I think.

IDGC has a lakeshore campground, standard state-park-type. I don't think it's an easy walk to the courses, but there are 3 fine courses in the same park.

Further afield, Turkey Lake in Orlando has both a campground and small rental cabins. Walk onto 2 pretty good courses from either.

Also, Richard P. Russell in Elberton, GA is a fine course, in a state park with campground and rental cabins. Course is not within walking distance of either.

I suspect most courses in State Parks offer camping and/or cottages. There aren't any, to my knowledge, in SC or NC, but GA has some, and I know MS has quite a few.

None come to mind that are real convenient to hotels---the kind of location that is lucrative enough for hotels is not often a location that can devote considerable undeveloped land to a disc golf course. If you're thinking about reasonable hotels within, say, 5 miles, a LOT of courses qualify.

I don't know why, but it just dawned on me. The Sarge (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=2498&mode=ci) in Hardeeville, SC is in a state park. They Might offer camping. You should probably double check that, but the odds are good that they should!

I don't think the Sarge is in a state park---I think it's a county park, or city park. No idea on whether that includes camping.

It, and its cross-border mate Tom Triplett, count as some of the easiest for travelers to access---both are virtually on interstate exit ramps. As such, there's bound to be cheap interstate lodging fairly close by.

Mobile, Alabama has two courses with campgrounds---Citronelle, and Chickasabouge. At both, you can walk from campground onto the course.
