Alright, so me and a few friends are attending our buddie's marine boot camp graduation. I want to know what one course would you suggest playing along the way. We'll be passing through Charlotte, Rock Hill, and Columbia.

I've only played Renny, Hornet's Nest, Rankin Lake, and Winthrop in the area but Hornet's Nest was by far the most fun.

Yeah Hornet's Nest is a blast.

Earlewood in Columbia. Don't let its shortness turn you off---it's lots of fun.

Charlotte has so many courses, you might want to define what you're looking for. If you want great AND challenging, Renny won't disappoint.

You might look into how much a detour Trophy Lakes in Charleston would be. Well worth it if you can fit it in.

You could give Nevin a whirl if you feel like you need a good beat down. It's a beast. If you're looking for something pretty much the opposite of that, go play Reedy Creek. Both are pretty close to I-85, so you won't have too much extra drive time. If you've got plenty of time you could hit Nevin and Hornet's Nest, they're pretty close.

Looking closer, I notice you've played a number of the Charlotte courses. If you're looking to replay your favorites, well, you can probably make that decision yourself. If you haven't played both versions of Renny & Hornet's Nest, I'd suggest that. But if you're looking for a course you haven't played in Charlotte, Elon Long is a mugging in the woods (and I mean that in a good way).

If you play Winthrop, check the cautions in the reviews that (1) there are two overlapping layouts, (2) the Gold Course isn't the Gold Course without the ropes, and (3) it can be confusing as hell. Get maps or, better, a guide.

Hey Adam, when you coming through? I may be able to meet up with you somewhere.

We'll be heading down the 3rd I believe, and back on the 5th or 6th (March.) Where do you live at?

Edit: Ahh Gastonia, haha. I should've looked at your location.

March 3-6?

I suggested you play Earlewood but will point out that there's a tournament there March 6. You won't be able to play it on your return, if you're returning Saturday.
