...for a stratus to replace both a comet and buzzz?
With recent additions of stalkers and nebulas, I find myself reaching for my buzzz less and less, especially if a slight hyzers needed. Hyzerflipping the stratus has led to less usage if the comet and buzzz.
Am I being stupid thinking a less popular disc can fill the role of two of the most popular discs?

Not if it works for you.

It can definitely fill those spots for certain shots, especially if you're already using a Nebula. Personally, I don't see the point in carrying a Nebula, Buzzz and Comet...way too much overlap. For me, the Stratus ends by drifting to the right more times than not, even on a substantial hyzer-flip so that's why I like to keep the Buzzz in the bag. I can hyzer-flip a Stratus pretty straight, but it has a tendency to end off to the right, or I can throw a Buzzz flat and have it end either straight or with a very slight fade to the left. A lot of times there is trouble (OB, rough, etc.) to the right or to the left of a straight shot so I choose the disc that is more likely to not end in that direction.
The problem with the Stratus is that you can't really throw it hard without it completely turning over so for me it's distance is limited to around 250'. The stability of the Buzzz allows me to get it out further by more than 50' even though it's rated as a slower disc. The added stability also allows me to really nut on an anhyzer with the Buzzz, whereas the Stratus is more of a touch-shot anhyzer disc where if I put more than 60% power it will turn too much. Although, the Nebula is so similar to the Buzzz that I think it too would make a good combo with the Stratus.

Thanks for your point about pushing that stratus long. I'm not sure if I see the stratus stretching 300. I just learned the flip so I wasn't sure of it's potential with a disc like that.
I agree on the overlap. The comets gonna go I think.
I was thinking; stratus for slight right, neb for slight left.
