I was given an Innova Christmas issue disc from the local Play It Again Sports that has the initials SPD on the bottom. Other than the initials, I can't tell what it is.
It is a driver. Might be Pro plastic, it is not as rigid as Star and not as grippy as DX
I went to the Innova page that has the disc abbreviation on it and I am still unsure what it is.
Any ideas?
If its a driver, my guess is a star destroyer. The only other thing with a similar code is a spider. Have you tried comparing it side by side with anything?

could it be for the local police department?

No, I think it was a gratuity for PIAS, they gave it to me.

Not a Spider. I have a DX Destroyer, will have to compare it with that.
Just dosen't feel like Star plastic.

This list of discs abbreviations (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/abbrev.html) might help you out a bit

It is the Discmania PowerDriver (star plastic). From the "Ask Dave D from Innova" forum on PDGA. It is a disc that Innova designed for the relatively new/small company Discmania.

Dave The new xmas discs say star PD on the bottom but resemble the test run destroyers. Just wondering what the disc actually was? Thanks

They were prototype PDs. Not quite as stable as the actual run. "

SPD = Scratch Player Difficulty
It's a measure of Course difficulty. That's what I was hoping this thread was about.
For now, you can learn more at the Charlotte DG CLub (http://www.charlottedgc.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=694&PN=4) forum.

SPD = Slient Potentially Deadly.
(Yes, I know that's juvenile. :rolleyes:)

Uh oh, I "smell" another thread similar to the "Do Disc Golfers Sh@t in the Woods" thread. :eek:

Thanks for the explanation, I got one of these and wondered, "what does SPD stand for?"
