I just tried using my Monarch as a driver, and I was shocked. I threw one of my longest drives so far, fairly straight. I bought the Monarch as a turnover disc, but it works great as a main driver. I am very impressed.

My monarch has replaced my valkyrie as my primary understable driver. I really like the flight and I like the feel of the disc in my hand. Perhaps the most impressive thing about the disc for me is its incredible glide; that disc will just catch wind and just keep going.
It will be interesting to see how the Innova groove compares to the monarch ... especially if it has similiar glide.

If you like a lot of turn on a disc like the Monarch, you probably would like the Stingray. I throw a Stingray a lot as a LHBH left-turning mid-range driver, especially because of the turn. If you like the Monarch, and are looking for something without as much speed, check out the Stingray: http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/stingray.html If the Ray turns too much for you, check out the Leopard, also for midrange drives: http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/leopard.html
Good luck with it.

I have just stared using my leopard and am really starting to like it. I think I will have to pick up a Monarch pretty soon.

If you love the Monarch, you should really give the Vision by Latitude 64 a try.

ditto on the Monarch, love that disc. I just bought a star Leopard a few weeks ago and I can't leave it in the bag - short drives/long approach shots/anhyzers/mid-range and accurate as hell. I could play with just these 2 discs and a putter.

Yep, already gave away my Road Runner to a noob I'm helping to get started. The Monarch might be the most consistent turnover disc out there. Hyzer flips can leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling.

I'm a side-arm thrower and I throw ~225-250', and yesterday I threw one of my best drives ever with a 167 Champion Monarch. It was over 300 feet downhill, and this thing stayed really straight for me and I ended up pin high. The sign said par 4, but I think it was really just a long par 3, so either my first eagle or my longest birdie ever!

How long was the hole. I would count it as an Eagle, confidence is good. When I started I played my local with 4's but now they are 3 for me. I hit a 110 ft second shot not long after learning to play then I counted it as an Eagle now if I did it would be a Birdie.

I just got my monarch in the mail yesterday. It is a fundraiser disc for "La Vie en Rose" and is signed by Juliana Korver.

I have had my monarch for a while and every once in a while i get a really great shot out of it but i agree with you i would much rather stick with my Valkyrie....i am much more accurate and consistant with that bad boy
I got to throw my Monarch recently and I was very impressed with this disc. I see alot of use in future rounds.

so, after 5 rounds with the monarch, (being the only 5 rounds i've ever played, and my only long-range driver) I also got some good shots - but have had a hard time taming the monarch.
(just ordered a x-out valk though, haven't tried that mold yet- looking forward to it!)
