A Disc Golf Christmas

So seeing as it is Christmas eve, what is that one disc golf present that you have been waiting for or hope to receive? For me it is a new Innova Competition bag and maybe a couple of Discraft Forces to go with it!

We opened a couple tonite and I got a dx Archangel and something called a Golden Retriever. Anybody use one of those before? I have never thrown an Archangel either.
The Golden Retriever (http://www.discdiver.com/) works reasonably well when you have clear water and can see where the disc is. Almost nobody carries them in Houston because the water is so murky you can't see what you're dredging for....

I am so blessed this year. I got a DGA m-14 basket from my wife and a BOSS and a discraft predator.
I got my wife a ROC from the all women's tourney this coming FEB and got it signed by Juliana Kover.

I got my Nintendo DS today, but didn't get the disc golf game yet. I'll pick it up tomorrow from BJ's. Also got my soft banger gt, and a new buzzz-d (same exact color and foil design as the one I found beat to hell) from my dad the ball-golfer:(. He went to play-it-again sports here in VB and got a lot of help from the employees there, Thanks guys if you are ever on here.:)

I started out my disc golf Christmas with a few, from me to me, presents. I went to Disc Nation in Austin and got two Discraft Forces (168, 172), and three soft Banger GT putters. I also got two Flicks thinking they were something else. (Don't ask!)

Christmas morning, I had a couple of good belly laughs. About a week ago, my son and I went out to play. He starts doing a 360 spin on his long drives, tomahawks and grenade shots which he had never done before. He tells me he saw them demonstrated in videos on the internet. It amazed me how quickly he got the 360 spin working. Added about 40' to his drives.

Well, this morning, he gives me the Scott Stokely 3 disc DVD set for Christmas. On the back cover, it says "the 360 Turnaround" and my ears perked up. I look at the cover of the DVD a little closer and it's been opened.

I looked at him and said, "360, huh?". He said he had to do a quality check on the disc and we started laughing.

Next, my future daughter in law hands me a present and whispers that she really hopes I like it but she bought without my son's knowledge. I open it up and it's a regular frisbee. My son sees it, goes bugeyed, and starts laughing.

No way I'm going to laugh in front of her. It was obvious she wanted to impress me with something she thought I'd really like. I gave my son the look if you treasure your life, you'd better shut up. I didn't want to hurt her feelings.

Later, my son and I went outside and threw it around and laughed like hell. It's our secret.

Pretty good glide but no distance. Now, I'm going to have to carry it around in my bag forever. LOL

went out to reedy creek in charlotte with the whole family today (2 ultimate frisbee playing brothers, my father ad my mother). we had never all been out to the course together since i took to the sport more seriously. i shot a -6 to take home the first "carpenter christmas disc golf championship". we started off the morning opening material gifts, but after our round i realized that my favorite sport with my favorite people made it an xmas to remember (oh and the 60 degree and sunny weather didnt hurt much either).

Wife gave me a card...in it just said "go order a travel basket online"....so I went and checked out a few sites...went with Disc Golf Ctr. Com....$99.00 and free shipping. Already have an Innova Sport catcher in my back yard, but it's tough to pack up and take with you on vacations, takes up too much vital space in the back, plus it's noisy on any bumps. So now I can take the travel basket anywhere, anytime, and I can take it with me to tourneys and practice between rounds at lunch...SWEET!

apparently i was on santa's bad list cause i didn't get anything from the wife...i did just get her permission to buy another basket, and the december starter kit on prime discs...i've been curious as to the quality of the fade bags, she'll end up using it, but the discs are mine...and the basket is gonna put me well on my way to a home course!

My 5 year old bought me a 175 DX Eagle (black with red stamp) with his own money, then when we went to the course to play on Christmas afternooon he took it and used it the entire time. My daughters went in together and bought me another DX Skeeter. You can never have too many Skeeters.
