Have you thrown any Discraft? (One thing that really expanded my game was getting into other companies.) http://www.dgcoursereview.com/bag.php?mid=7945 Having that said 4 Wraiths seems a little excessive as well as three understable speed 9's. You might be able to loose the Monster or Firebird since you have an XCal as well. Looks like you could use a faster fairway driver or two (Eagle/Teebird). I understand the 3 Roc's (if you try Discraft a Buzzz would help too) but have you tried expanding on the putters? I think having one or two Rhyno's and a less stable putter would help.

Definately lookin into the an understable putter. Have a voodoo on it's way in the mail and was also SEARCHING for an SSS or SS Magic.

Was also going to check on the stable fairway drivers. T-bird or Eagle. Had an eagle for a long time that I was $$$ with.

The Eco Star Wraith might be leaving the bag to, as well as the sidewinder.

Just started throwing an ESP Stalker by discraft to replace my Leopard which is becoming to flippy.

...so all in all, you've pretty much read my mind.

Would love to check out Discraft and Gateway stuff, but not sure what I'd replace in my current bag with Discraft or whatever. To confident in the stuff that I'm throwing now.

you have way too many drivers that do the same thing. i mean how many headwind drivers do you need? thats crazy...

I hope you're throwing 450' + to make use of all those warp speed discs. If not, come back down to the fairway drivers with the rest of us mortals. There's a lot of overlap between your Xcal, Destroyer, Wraiths, Boss, Katana, etc and between your Firebird and Monster.

Threw a nice 500 footer today though.

The Katana will soon leave the bag. I don't care for the disc at all. The 173 Champ Wraith does what I wanted the Katana to do...AND MORE.

I really only use that Boss for low long skips and big hyzers, not big booming drives.

And with regards to the monster and firebird....mine really fly nothing alike. Alot of times that monster will hold a str8 line, the firebird hooks like a motherf*****. Though I do know that they are very similar discs in general.

XCal is only used in big headwinds. Nothing else.

Destroyer will hold up in the wind where the Wraiths won't (Depending on direction)

There are few drivers in there that I only use for just a few holes / for specific conditions.

BUT ...I do see the reasoning behind what you've mentioned......much appreciated THX

All out of the box, yes, many of them do, do the same thing. Different states of usedness with my bag makes these discs do very different things, but at first glance of what's in my bag, yes, I could see why you'd say that.

To many headwind drivers? Have you ever played in TX?:D

I need a slower, super overstable mid though for sure. Whippet is to much sometime.

Suggestions???

And for those who've missed it....the Eco Wraith (I'll stick to the Destroyer, too close to have both), the Katana (have a wraith that'll pull that off...BETTER), the Sidewinder (used Valk. can do those tricks) will be leaving the bag!!! so i guess don't include those.

Anyone feel like taking the time to list the comparative Discraft Discs to what I'm currently carrying???

'preciate the feed back guys:clap:

As far as Discraft goes here is what's comparable to what you already have in Innova:

Boss/Katana - Nuke
XCal/Destroyer - Force
Wraith - Surge/Crush
Starfire/Valkyrie - Flash/Avenger
Firebird/Monster - Predator
Whippet - Drone
Roc/Leopard - Wasp/Buzzz
Rhyno - Zone/Challenger

You don't have:
Teebird/TL/Eagle - Cyclone/XL/Tracker

If you decide to dip into Discraft that should be a pretty accurate guide to replacements or substitutes.

Sweet. And that's the plan. I'm gonna start cheating on Innova.

Are you a FH or BH dominate player?

TxDiscGolfBoy

RHBH, but flick with mid and putter if the situation calls for it.

Okay, as far as the list I gave you is concerned, the Whippet is a much better FH disc and the Drone much better for BH. The Zone could go either way (I use a max wt for big hyzers, extreme headwind putts and BH drives about 200 ft an in (with a lot of torque)) but a Challenger or Ringer would be better for actual putting. I would also just suggest looking into the Vibram VP's. I used to putt with max wt Rhyno's and switched to the max wt VP's and will never go back.

I just not a big fan of duplicate discs such as your Rocs and Rhynos. I would rather learn to throw a Roc and Rhyno better so you make it do what you want it to do. Those extra discs just take up space for other discs that are different and serve a better purpose. I might carry a duplicate disc in my bag from time to time, but that is mainly in case I lose the other one in a round.

TxDiscGolfBoy

all the rocs are different for sure. not the same disc. One's new and holds str8 with a nice fade, one is super str8, and one turns and will hold even the slight any all the way to it's landing spot....THE BASKET!!!

not to sound like i'm defending my bag in any way, or in any of these these posts i've come back with since the thread started, because all the replys (good or bad) are what I was lookin for.

...plus i lose rocs haha:doh:. i carry multiples for that reason as well.

same thing with the wraiths.

No need to explain we all have our niches. Like I said earlier the biggest jump in my game came when I stated expanding to new companies but the bigger the bag I carry the more similar discs or multiples I start to carry as well.

I certianly know what it is like to have backups of discs. Do I dare mention a Buzzz to you? Absolutely love mine! Good to see you have a Voodoo on the way. I have the SS Voodoo and really don't see myself ever using a different putter agian, yeah, it is that good. It is kind of weird looking at your bag and mine, that the most variety in discs are those in the driver range. I basically have 5 different drivers or so and just my Buzzz for midrange, Aviar for short stuff and Voodoo for everything 50 feet in basically.

TxDiscGolfBoy

Do you dare mention a buzzz? LOL

I throw rocs. It's either or, in my opinion. The Buzzz is a GREAT DISC!!! I juts throw rocs, they're what I "grew up" with.

Started with a DX Shark for a few months when I first started, then went to the KC Roc. Been lovin' 'em ever since.

I ALWAYS carry a buzzz in the bag though.......it's just not discraft.

BUT ...I do see the reasoning behind what you've mentioned......much appreciated THXI think the question is whether you have to use all of those different discs to perform those shots or whether you could get by with a couple of them but choose to use all of them for slightly better performance. If you have to use them to perform the shots you might be better off cutting way down for a while to learn to perform those shots with fewer discs. If you can perform those shots with fewer discs but choose not to you're probably OK.

I do agree that messing with a Teebird and Eagle would probably be worth while. You may be surprised at what they can do.

Have you experimented with siffer putters? I find that stiffer putters make getting specific relese angles easier and I find that to be very important in the wind. Rather than using a overstable putter like a Rhyno, you might be able to get away with a stiffer putter with more carry, like a KC Aviar or Wizard, putt consistantly flat and extend your range a bit. If you like what you have going now that's OK, but if you haven't considered this it may be worth trying.

Gator....I've never thrown a Star, but I have a Champ CFR and it's sweet...much slower that the whippet. Another disc I may use in these situations is a Viper...very overstable and slower than the whippet...but not by much.

Looking at your bag, one add I would suggest would be an Innova Monarch or Lat 64 Vision...they do pretty much the same thing...fast understable driver. Although with your power (throwing over 500ft) an understable driver that fast might just turn over on you....but I love those discs and the Monarch is the longest thing in my bag (although I've only tickled 400 feet a couple of times...so take that for what it's worth).

I've had one or two tosses that far. Usually pushing about 375-400. I had a monarch at one time, but got rid of it, my beast, and my sidewinder all because of a used champ valk. that I have....ohhhh so versitile.

rid of 3 of the wraiths, you don't neeed them. Try an avenger for hyzers, keep one wraith for distancein light wind, keep the katana for just distance. Stalker and Whippet make a good combo, a beat stalker should fly leopardish. Who needs a roc when you can have a buzzz, and the buzzz does not compare to a leopard, leopard would be more like an xpress. Putters I can't comment, I like the soft magnet, challenger for appproches right now. Whatever works.
