I have made quite a few long putts, and its more fun than parking a drive.

I'll have to agree with the long putt.....but, also as gratifying......saving a par from a bad lie in the rough. Last hole played in a tourney yesterday, had a great drive going when it just kissed a tree and went flying off. I was about 100-120' out, but there was nothing but tiny gaps going straight to the basket, low branches and tiny gaps for a forehand flick shot, and a more open backhand shot, but had to go high, and a hill, with the basket guarded coming in that route by a dogwood tree. I pulled out my pig, to try a spike hyzer shot, and got caught at the end by a SMALL <about pencil size or smaller> twig at the dogwood tree, that dropped me straight down. Left me with about a 25-30' putt, standing on a hill looking down at the basket........and I drilled it! Yeah, I only saved par<and the exact same hole I "parked" the round before for a birdie>......but saving that was wayyy more gratifying than the birdie the round before!

Playing alone or casually with a couple friends, the long putts are very sweet and are the shots that keep me loving disc golf.
But in competition, it feels great to wait your turn to putt out your park job when the other players on your card are making up-shots or trying for that long putt.

I have to agree with almost everyone on here so far, the long putt gets me much more pumped than parking a drive. The way I look at it, parking a drive is probably considered anywhere within a 15 foot radius of the basket, but hitting that long putt is hitting the sweet spot.
I'll also say though, come time for a tournament, I'll take a park job over a long putt every hole.

I would say birdie putt over 100' or a deuce from 150-200'. I have no Ace's so I am biased.

Hole 8 at Buffalo ridge is 561'. I birdied it for the first time ever a few weeks ago from about 170'. It's the longest shot I've ever made. I have two aces and each one was less than 170'. It was truly an awesome feeling, though I do enjoy parking it off the tee!!

It's more gratifying to cramp apothecary's style.....I really enjoy the drop in that builds confidence moreso than saving your azz from disaster.

I might say parking a drive on a long hole.
I will go against the grain with ya. Yea, there is more screaming and yelling, jumping up and down, and just going crazy, from others when someone hits a long putt, but for me and my game, I want to park everything and have a short putt.
I feel that I get lucky when a 70-100' throw goes in, but when I park a long drive, I know that I made a great throw and that gives me confidence to do it again. The lucky throws don't give me any more confidence than I already had.

I'll be the odd man out on this one. I enjoy parking long holes...any hole really. From 70 or whatever feet out I'm not trying to make it so if I do it's really just a bad shot that the basket got in the way of. Not that I don't get pumped when they go in. I'm just saying I got lucky. But then again some of those shots I'm trying to lay it up but still give it a chance of going in. So whatever, why can't I enjoy both equally?

i would say both are gratifying, but in their own ways. however there is nothing like sinking a long, nasty putt from 40-80 and hearing it slam those chains.

I hit a miracle putt this weekend and didn't even touch chains...it was crazy. Playing doubles, best disc so each partner had to hole out and the best score was taken. Off the tee I hit a tree and went maybe 30' then my wife does the same. 2nd shot I didn't get much further...maybe another 10-20'. 3rd shot I threw a huge anny with my star gator and got about 60% down the fairway while my wife was still hacking away in the crap to the right.
4th shot, I was throwing a hyzer because the basket is up on a little plateau and if you stay low you deal with an uphill putt but if you get up there it is a normal level shot, it zoomed around the trees as planned and I was hoping it wasn't too hot because 6' past the basket is OB. It rang right into the bucket and didn't make a sound, didn't even touch the chains...it was amazing.

In the picture I was behind the tree in the open space and came up around the trees parallel with the basket to the opening on the left.
The best part is, just before this on 16 my wife drained a good 50'+ putt to save par on a 445' hole in front of a crowd of ADV+ players.
