I've been reading the meeting minutes (http://www.eastchinatownship.org/parkjan2.pdf) from the township parks and rec board for quite a while. This would be a nice location that runs along the Belle River. There is no other course nearby with the closest at least a 30 minute drive west (Stony Creek) or south(St. Clair Shores).

If done properly, it could bring in a lot more people to the game in these parts. If successful, it could also bring in more courses to the SCC area (Goodells or Columbus County Parks) that have the acreage to accomodate a nice course. For example, Columbus County Park is new and could use something like a DGC for a lower-cost attraction to get people to come out and use the park.

The next meeting is on April 14. Hopefully the course layout is approved and installation can begin soon.

The course rep/designer has been AWOL for months. We were so close. Now they have tabled the course. I think I read here that once something gets tabled, it gets left on the back burner even longer.

This guy almost had this in the bag. Now they will no longer seek his knowledge and expertise. I wish I knew the guy (Mr. Beattie) to find out wtf happened. I live 30+ minutes away from the park and don't know if an outside resident would be accepted to comment/work on this project.

There still is some hope for this project but any original planned design has likely been scrapped since the proposed course was tabled. The project is in new hands but is not a very high priority. It's not dead though. Mr Shortal, a twp offical, has taken over the reigns for now and brought up a couple months ago that he would like to get this off the ground.

Hopefully, HE can get them baskets INTO the ground.
