I was recently contacted via PM by superberry (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/profile.php?id=2247), course designer and maintainer of Winter Park in Kewaunee, WI (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=2030).

My story goes back to last May at Winter Park, when I was on Hole #15 (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/view_image.php?p=course_pics/2030/e69c3c66.jpg). I usually throw 2 shots from the top of this picturesque 715' monster downhill hole, and my first shot ended up decent. I pulled out an "expendable" disc, my 180 blank white Helios (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=2030&mode=ld), and watched it sail way off to the right to find the drink on Hole #18 (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/view_image.php?p=course_pics/2030/c575bb91.jpg). I literally had NO contact information whatsoever on this disc, it was--like I said--blank white, so I'd long given up on it. Anyway, I went ahead and plugged it in as a lost disc out here on DGCR (as referenced in the above link to my disc), specified the hole where it was lost, and again forgot about it (it's one of only 2 lost discs listed at Winter, and I know there were close to 150 discs in just that one reservoir). Fast forward to where I began my story, superberry contacts me saying, "I've got your Helios." Whoa. I couldn't even remember at the time whether or not I'd put any info on it, since it'd been almost a year since I lost it and I usually mark everything...I finally got a chance to get up there and reclaim not only my Helios but another DX Cheetah I'd lost off the tee on #18 (and never really cared about anyway), and superberry told me he'd seen it on DGCR and matched up what he'd found. I still owe him, and I plan on chipping in some volunteer labor up there one of these weekends (in case you're reading, Tim! :p but seriously, I'll be up there soon!).

So there you have it. My prodigal son returned. And he's currently on my pegboard of non-used discs waiting to be given away to a beginner--along with that DX Cheetah.

Moral of the story? Use DGCR to its fullest! I should also note that I frequently check my own home course's page for lost discs (yet again, only 2 are listed and I know there's many more...and one of these discs is one of mine!), so you can trust me to contact you in a similar manner if I find your disc and match it up to one listed. I trust other folks who monitor courses via DGCR will do likewise?

If only everyone in the world who ever played disc golf used this site and would return lost discs like this. I can barely get people to return discs with my name and number on them. I should have one on the way that I lost about a year ago out in So Cal, which I am pretty excited about but it will be the first disc I will ever have returned to me. I enjoy returning discs to others though. I just wish the guy I saw this past Tuesday looking for his disc would have stuck around like 10 minutes longer as I found his disc, only with no info on it. He hasn't listed it on here sadly.

Oh, livonia is close to my parents, haven't looked at courses over there yet
