like it says, i have one buzzz already and want to get a second one to practice with and to have as a back up. Im thinking of getting a little different one though so i can play around and see which one i like better.
I already have a 172 esp buzzz
My local shop has:
heavier 175-177ish ones in flx and esp
or
a lighter 165ish esp or D
I don't think they have a Z but i could look. If they did it would be over 173 grams. (we looked for my wife and they had mostly heavier stuff)
For reference i am a total noob and throw the buzz for everything under 175 feet and use an Impact (166 gram) for a driver for anything over 175 feet. I can get the buzz out about 200 feet though when practicing.

Go into the shop and tell the owner that all the cool shop owners carry the Z Buzzz and ask him "Don't you want to be cool?" That's worked on me for so many different things that I can't remember all of them.
Get a Z if you can...it will last forever. As your ESP starts to get beat up, you'll have a good understable Buzzz and a solid, line-holding Z Buzzz.

I would say get a Z Buzzz...if your local shop doesn't carry them, go online...lots of good online retailers that I totally trust and rely on.

I honestly love my flx buzzz. it completely bumped my z buzzz out.
I've been tossing it more and more into the woods here and it doesn't have a single scratch on it after 20-30 really good tree hits.
If i'm having an off moment out there, I trust my flx buzzz to do what I need.

thanks guys
I guess my main question is which weight should i get? I already have the 172 buzz so should i go heavier or lighter? The benefit of the lighter one is it would be easier to throw for my weak arm (max out at 225 rhbh but can get 300+ rhfh, trying to learn to backhand well though) and my wife could also try it out and use it.

It does magical things.

Since you are a newbie you might want to try a Pro D or an Elite X Buzzz; both are straight and act like a broken in Elite Z right out of the gate.

i F'ing love my flx.. i would say go flx, go heavy, and let er rip.. i just love the way it snaps out of my fingers and flies so well... just a very predictable flight, great glide

I really dig my impact which feels like a really flexy ESP. Im guessing the buzzz flx feels pretty close to my impact.
ill just head to the shop and see what feels good i guess.
Weight is the big concern at the moment. probably go heavier though

I'm happy with both my CryZtal Z Buzzz and my FLX Buzzz...
I don't think you could go wrong...just pick whatever one has the best color and if you want to get a lighter one that would be easier to throw with a tailwind and for the lady friend.

I use a z buzz and the Halloween esp buzz with a little bit of flx. The halloween seems to throw more like a wasp and is domey, i like it alot. The z is more flat topped like a buzz. I guess whatever suits you and feels better i would try. I do think you should go a little heavier, midranges seem to fly better in heavier weights then you would throw your drivers.

When I threw Buzzzes, I threw Z plastic for awhile but found I preferred X plastic. The grip. The break-in period. Buy a couple and alternate them until they break in. You could even get two different weights and figure out what you prefer throwing.

I have thrown ESP, FLX, and Z Buzzzzes and my favorite of them all was the Z. I liked the ESP and FLX Buzzzes as well, but my flat-top Z-Buzz seemed to be the most predictable of them all.
As for weight, if anything I'd go heavier. Midranges demand accuracy, not all out distance. Go for the heavier one since it won't get pushed around as much in the wind. I throw all my mids 175 to max weight.

have a z one right now and it is great. Thinking of getting another as backup to or try one in different plastic. It has bumped all bag out of mids besides an aces meteor.

I have an ESP Buzzz that has seasoned really nice. I bought a Z Buzzz to compliment it and I couldn't be happier. If you can pick up a Z... you definitely won't regret it!

thanks guys, I didn't make it to the shop today because i had a chance to go play a round instead. I also went out to a park after and threw all my discs a ton to get used to them. Still can't throw the buzzz without a hard fade to the left yet but im working on it. I changed my grip from the power grip to the one with your pinky and pointer finger on the rim and the middle two fanned out and i actually was throwing my putters and my buzz further and way straighter. I was suprised that i could throw my putters 150ish feet perfectly straight everytime that way.
Ill check out what they got. It sounds like i should go with a higher weight. When i was throwing my 175 gram putter it felt great.
thanks for the help guys. Man i love this game (even though im new and suck!)

Awesome. Yes definatly go heavy with whatever you choose. I also find I get better accuracy with using a mod. fan grip also on my mids and putters. Keep working at it you'll get them even straighter in no time.

I also was goofing around today trying to teach my brother how to throw forehand and was trying to only move my arm about a foot and use a good snap to make the disc go and was suprised that i could get my buzzz 150ish feet out. In 20 minutes of goofing around it completely taught me how to better flick my wrist while throwing forehand. I slowly worked up to throwing with more and more arm movement. I didn't gain a whole ton of distance but i could throw my banshee and starfire lower and with less of an s-curve and less fade. It felt good.
I also learned a little more on how to throw mids and putters due to the wet weather. I didn't wipe off my discs so they were a little wet but it gave me the feel of the disc actually ripping out of my fingers. Before this i think i was letting go some.
its crazy what you can learn in a a few hours in an open field...

I just bought my second buzzz too. I already had an FLX buzzz (which works amazing during a PA winter), but I decided to go with a z buzzz because the FLX has a higher propensity to turnover IMO.

And I agree that the 174+ is the best way to go. One of mine is 176 and the other is 174. And this is coming from someone who throws drivers from 166-170.

I had a 176g Flx Buzzz that was pure magic for me till I out drove a hole and it finally met Mr. River. :( Flx Buzzz = :hfive:

If you play a lot of wooded courses, I'd suggest the Z-Buzz. It will hold up better in the long run.

Z Buzzz if you can find it.
Lighter weight ESP for yourself or the wife isn't a bad bet either. Got me a lighter Impact, 159g, a few months back, loved it. On my recommendation I urged my gf to try it for a straight approach. I told her to throw it; just release it flat and hard enough to hit the basket. Trust it, I told her. Well she fell in love with it. And appropriated it as hers. Now we own 3 of them. She uses the 163, I carry the 159 and use it when there is little or no wind, and I use the 177 when its breezy-windy.
My point, is not about the Impact, but the Buzzz. I'm sure your wife will love the lightweight Buzzz. And if not, you'll have a light one and a heavy one. I find the heavier ones a lot more controlable on windy days.
That all said, if you play in the cold snowy mountains of Utah, get an FLX come fall. FLX is great in the cold. Retains some flexiblity without getting all floppy like it seems to in the hot sun. Still a great disc, but for me at least it seems a lot more sensitive to release flaws.
And if that sounds confusing, take the advice of many here, go with the Z if you can find one.

#1 Stalker- Just as long as wasp with soft landing....but way more of a versatile disc-can throw like driver into the wind.....if I could keep one disc....this is my weapon of choice...and I have a following....there is no coincidence why STALKERS are getting full page ads in discgolf magazine.
#2 ESP BUZZZ- Z buzz is like esp wasp.......BUZZZ=str8 glide...soft landing so go esp....unless you have a fetish for buzzz or rocs or whatever
#3 Z Glide or ESP Meteor= great turnover discs, but Glide is more glidy and workable than the MAKO
Here's why MAKO is a NoNo...It is nearly a coyote...and Star plastic gets broke down.
I prefer max weight in all midrange

thanks man,
My uncle let my wife try his 164 2007 race ace disc (impact) and she loved. We bought her a 166 but i like it and stole it. so we just ordered 2 163's in pink. one for her and one for me. The impact is my go to RBHB driver for a dead straight 175-225 shot. I can throw it consistent and perfectly straight with no fade. Im sure at some point ill start to over throw it but until then its the perfect beginner backhand disc. People should really recommend the impact more for weaker beginners.
Ill try for a Z but if they don't i may get an FLX. Im a disc whore and since im taking my brother there to get some discs today it will be hard to walk out without getting myself something :)

the stalker is listed as an extra long range driver by discraft. Thats two whole classes above the buzz.
