I am designing signs for a local course that has never had any and it would be great if I could get some inspiration. I am looking for some examples of the best tee signs (or course maps) disc golf has to offer. Anyone out there have any pictures (or better yet, illustrator files)? Thanks in advance!

Check Lake Casitas sign's (Coyote Pointe).
I like that style graphic myself... however, it is almost impossible to show blind holes effectively. And this is especially troublesome if the course has more than a few blind holes.

I think these are great. We need to work on some vandalism issues, and need signs like these for the back nine, but they do the job well.

No, they're the original signs for the front nine. Unfortunately, several of them are currently missing due to vandalism, and the powers that be have still not gotten their act together enough to put the permanent signs in on the back 9.

Wow, that's quite the fancypants sign, Jack. How much did they cost you?

Also, since this thread is here and may as well stay, let me say I really dig what they've put in at East Roswell Park in Georgia:

I don't know how much the spent on these, but I really like the style and being etched metal they look extra durable as well.

a 543 foot par 3? i hope that's downhill...
and is the ball golf hole graphic there for decoration or is the dg course beside a ball golf course?

Maybe a bit downhill, but really just long and open so you can unleash your most monstrous drive. Only a handful of pars ever for me on this hole, usually a bogey (and on hole 1 to add to the pain). Better make that second shot count!:wall:

This 18-hole course is on top of a 9-hole ball golf course. Both can be playing at the same time! FOOOOOOORRE!

How about criticism of the design and not the hole I chose as an example?

Some of the symbology is vague. What are those three black dots near the ball golf green?
Also you could stand to make the tee pads a more prominent feature on the map, and make the numbers a bigger font.

The dots near the golf green are supposed to represent those tall posts for golf ball nets. I might try to make that more 3-D, because you are right - they just look like dots. Maybe the word "post" next to it and some arrows. Any ideas?
Currently, there are no tee pads for the disc course, just small white stakes with numbers on them. Really, there should be nice new signs since I am designing these tee signs. Duh! Stupid on my part. I should also find out if they plan to put in improved tees when they install the signs so that would be correct too. The actual sign will be larger than shown, and I will make sure the numbers are easy to read.

I think they run us about $60 for a pair of them (they're 8.5 x 11 inches, and get run on a process that uses 17 x 11 blanks, so it's only worthwhile doing two at once). They're done the same way as metal plaques for trophies and such.
In the eighteen months they've been up, we've had one stolen, and one attacked with a screwdriver or penknife or something. The wooden posts and frames haven't held up that well, but the signs themselves aren't much the worse for wear so far. We'll be replacing two more in the next few weeks, having sold two more sponsorships.

Ironically, that's one of the old tee signs from East Roswell Park that have been replaced with the ones Lewis refers to later in the thread:
http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/showpost.php?p=366149&postcount=10
The new equivalent looks like this:

Here's the layout for our initial sign (#18) at Highland Hills in North Wilkesboro. To avoid doubling our expense, the club has opted to only have added tees and not added goals. We do have anchors enough for alternate pins, however, but haven't quite decided whether to work those into the sign or simply create an "add-on" sign when we figure out the further placements (months from now). Feedback is welcomed.
Images are; tee sign, tee sponsor sign and goal-top sign (front and back).
