Been playing about 1/2 a year, LHBH, posted here about a month ago when my bag setup looked something like this:

Pro Wraith - driver averaged around 350 rarely over
Pro Leopard - shorter drives, around 300
2 x DX Roc, one beat one new. - approaches / long putts
Aviar - Putting / short drives

Took some advice from people on here and changed it up...here's the new setup from longest to shortest...

Champ Valk 170g - Replaced my Wraith as my go to distance driver. Follows a nice tight "S" out to 350' consistently. When I really connect I'm inching closer and closer to the elusive 400' mark. Takes a lot less arm to throw and is 10x more versatile than my old Wraith.

Pro Leopard - My Understable fairway and probably my favorite disc. I use it for just about everything driving long straight approaches. Super versatile. I drive it out to about 300' same line everytime. I just love this disc.

Champ Eagle 172g - My Overstable fairway. My best hyzer disc. Only drive with it on Doglegs when my disc absolutely has to go right and I can't risk the Leo turning over on me. Other than that it's mostly a long approach/get me out of trouble disc. More times than I'd like to admit I've shanked a drive only to throw this and park it within 10'

DX Rocs both 180g - Finally starting to figure out how to use this thing. Almost switched to a buzzz until I hit two 100' approach putts straight as an arrow. Roc is just basically a go between my drivers and putters.

SSS Gateway Wizard 175g - WOW. Idk what else to say about this putter, I didn't think changing putters would take 2-3 strokes off my game but it has. As short driver I throw it 200' or so.

Questions I have for you guys are: Would an overstable distance driver benefit my game? Been looking at Firebirds in max weight for headwinds

Would adding a lighter weight Valk add distance to my drives?

Lastly, any painfully obvious overlap?

All other comments questions etc. appreciated, thanks in advance gents.

I would recommend an understable mid. I get some nice lines out of my star stingray.

You might like a champ leopard. Champ plastic tends to start out more overstable relative to pro plastic, so you could put a little more on the leopard before flipping it, get it out to that 350' mark.

An overstable driver and mid would be a good addition if you play in the wind. I don't know about firebirds but I do like my FLX Drone for overstable mid shots.

Also, though a buzzz and roc are both very controllable mids, don't let that discourage you from trying the buzzz.

Hope this helps - and congrats on consistently getting 350' 6 months in. You either have good form or a cannon of an arm to throw that far with that little experience.

Thanks for the quick responses gents, definitely have been considering a champ leo, was planning on adding one once my Pro gets a lil more beat and becomes super flippy.

As far as distance, I think I mentioned in the other thread I used to throw discus in high-school, there's a lot of differences but fundamentally they are quite similar for instance using your entire body to generate power and create momentum. So I guess I'm lucky in that most newer disc golfers use too much arm to compensate for bad form, I'm kind of the opposite in that generating power isn't the issue for me it's tweaking small areas such as grip, dropping my shoulder, release point etc.

Firebirds in a max weight are pretty overstable, so be prepared for it to hyzer hard to the right if you throw LHBH. Your Valk is probably a good addition. Any Gateway putter rocks!

I'd definitely recommend an understable mid.

I'm not sure how beat your Rocs are, but something like a Coyote or a Meteor should be able to hit some left to right lines that your Rocs might struggle with.

Thanks again for the feedback guys, getting a lot of good information. Went to the disc shop yesterday and struck gold. According the dude behind the counter a disgruntled frolfer came and in traded in all his gear, quitting all together. So there were 15+ used Star Plastic discs they look brand spanking new. Picked up the following...
161 Valk - approx 25' longer than my champ 170. Valk
168 Leo - Very similar to my pro Leo , longer and not as flippy, which will be nice.

Also got a Buzzz I just love how this disc feels in my hand, my only concern is can a Buzzz and Roc coexist together? I'm having a hard time trying to figure out which lines each disc is better suited for...Basically trying to find the differences to warrant having one of each in my bag.

Again thanks for all the great information.

Lolz, frolfer. Anyway, Buzzzes are awesome. Screw the Roc and learn that Buzzz well. I'm not biased or anything..

Happened again last night was throwing my buzzz trying to get a feel for it. Pulled out the Roc and sank a 70ft hyzer putt from behind a tree, then two holes later sink another 100 foot lazer beam. The Roc just won't let me get rid of it!

Added some a couple new drivers to the bag, trying to figure out the best understable midrange for my game, as always feedback appreciated...

166 DX Valk - My most consistent distance driver for wide open bombs hits the 350' mark with a nice tight "S"

161 Star Valk - My go to driver in tailwinds holds a great line and I got within feet of the 400' mark with this disc and a nice tailwind open field.

170 Champ Valk - More stable like to use for long tunnels and low ceilings, or when I don't want my DX valk to take a tree.

*New 171 P-PD - Have heard so many great things about this disc I had to give it a try, they say it flies like a faster teebird, and after early reviews I'd have to agree. Slightly longer than my Eagle and Leopard.

172 champ eagle - Big hyzers and big "s" trick approaches its like the roc of my drivers.

174 ESP Pred*new* - Tight hyzers and shots that absolutely have to go right. My go to driver in heavy wind.

170 Pro Leo - Understable driver long tight approaches and anny shots

168 Star Leo - Slightly more stable and longer and more predictable than the Pro which is beat and has a tendency to turn over.

180 DX Roc - It's a roc...

175 S Wiz - Driving and wooded putting where i dont want to damage my SSS wiz
175 SSS Wiz - Putts
