I carry both an 11x Champ 172 Firebird and an Elite-Z 171 Flick, but lately I've been wondering if I actually need both. I know their different speed ratings but they do pretty much all the same shots. The main difference in the two is when I forehand a firebird I can get it to go straighter than the Flick when released flat, but I'm mainly a backhand player and mostly use forehand shots for right turning shots where there's not enough room for an anhyzer. I think I'm going to take the Firebird out of the bag, but am curious what others think.

I would throw one or the other. Threw FB's for a while, recently found a Flick and tossed it a few. Both are good molds, but if I were to bag one I'd pick the Flick because it's faster and the shallow rim feels nice. They're essentially the same disc in my eyes, just different speeds. Pick whichever works best and shelf the other for now.

I also have both discs and have had more success with the firebird as it is slower with a smaller rim which make it more controllable for me.

I carry a 175 11x Firebird and a 147 ESP Flick. I use the Flick for overhead shots and trick shots. I do think that a Firebird and a Flick that are roughly the same weight would be overlap.

these guys are way off. i keep both in my bag because theyre two completely different animals. the flick is WAY faster in speed and in action...that thing hooks up quick and hard. the firebird is slower and more controllable. i use it when i can. the flick is sick though. throw low and it gets a massive skip. throw high and it tombstones at 90*.
use both.

Yeah not the same as a firebird I think is true OS and the flick does it with speed but is a meathook until you get that speed
I was in the same boat a couple weeks ago but a pred instead of a FB but wound up replacing both with a banshee

I use both, kind of. I use Predators instead of Firebirds, but they're similar in flight paths. I use the Flick for thumbers and forehand rollers and my Predators for forehand throws and tough wind. And as mentioned before, the Flick is a lot faster than the Firebird, or the Predator for that matter.
