View Full Version : Travel tags available to order
I just put the travel tags in the store. They're $5 a piece (shipping included). I should have them in around 2 weeks so that will give those that want one plenty of time to pre-order and lock in a lower number based on your DGCR ID.
When checking out, please include your DGCR ID and username.
Thanks!

order placed :D
Just a reminder: If you're interested in getting a travel tag with a lower number, pre-order now before they come in. After that it'll be first come, first serve.

Order placed. Will you post a list just to confirm that our order went through?
If you do it via paypal, it's all but guaranteed that I received it. I did the list for the personal tags since a lot of people sent in checks. So far all the travel tags have used paypal.

Nope, personal tags and travel tags are seperate purchases.

Any rough idea on how many people have ordered travel tags so far?

well, ok then, I guess I just need reminders from time to time.
So far 13. According to the poll I took earlier, 65 people were interested in getting one so hopefully they'll come out of the wood work. I will try to come up with something to advertise it on the home page too.

I think it can help me chose my vacation plans this summer. I'll just go to a state where 4/13 live...
I think more people will get one. I haven't had time to put together something to promote it yet. I guess that is something I can do this week.

I think we could take up a collection for the purchase of your tag if you'd accept it. Hopefully you guys will get through these tough storms you're having.:(
I created an ad for the travel tags that is pretty hard to miss. We might get some non-forum guys in on it now (and remind a few others).

Ummmm... I'm all for pimping the tags. But I'm not sure I like the precident that sets. A banner ad at the top is one thing, but when the ads start gettinge embedded in the content that's a slippery slope.
Tim, have you thought about an opt-in e-mail list that could be used for major site announcements like "Tags now available for order", or "Site wide disc browser implemented"? Could be part of your DGCR profile preferences and might reach an audience that doesn't necessarily frequent the forums.

An email list isn't a bad idea and could be something to look into. The option to opt in/out is already in the forum user control panel.
That ad spot has always been there, just vacant. There is that spot and then below the scheduled rounds (or below the graphical ad on other pages) there is a spot for text link ads if anyone ever chooses to get one. It's really only mixed with content on the course info page, everywhere else that area is empty.
I don't market the site as well as I could so chances are you won't see ads there too often and when you do, they will be DG related and not "punch the monkey" type stuff.

Timg, when I went through paypal it said it woud take a few days to process. Just wondering since there are only 13 people thus far if you could list it?

I actually like the add, as long as it relates to DG or important messages for the site. I can see it becomming a problem if it doesn't pertain to the sport but for short time periods it works.

It goes through right away (the email) so I know you ordered and put you on the list.

Thanks. I don't use paypal much so I wasn't sure. Who knows what I was reading.

I'm gonna order one of each (soon hopefully). Just a little short on $$ lately...

Well it takes a few days for the eCheck to clear so that's what you were referring to. I'm notified that you sent it right away though.
I got charged for the travel tags today so I'm guessing I will have them next week. If you want to get in on them now to get a lower # please order soon.
