what do you do to practice? most of the people i know just play golf or go to a field and throw for distance. anybody out there have some interesting training options?

sometimes I will play an easy course alone and just bring a driver, a mid-range, and a putter.....I will play in that order no matter what....So if I 3 all the holes I am good...but if I get a 4 then I have to start the next hole with the mid, then upshot with putter and putt with the driver and so on....its a silly game but I like it.....at times putting with a driver..at times driving with a putter....and so on...I am not sure it helps my game much but its a quirky thing I do.

If I want to work on my forehand, then I will go to my local course and throw all forehand drives and approaches, even if the hole dictates I don't. This helps me learn my discs and how to throw them better.

I've got a routine for practicing my putting that has stepped my game up a level. There have been some similar putting games posted lately, but there's no scorekeeping involved in my routine and it works well for me with just two putters.

I measure off 15, 20, 25, and 30 foot spots. Start at the 15' spot and sink six straight. Move to the 20' spot and I have to make 5 out of 6 putts. If I don't make at least 5, start back over at 15'. But 20' is now in my comfort zone, so I usually make the 5 out of 6 and move back to 25'. From 25', I want to make 4 out of 6 to move on. If I fail, it's back to 20'. If I make it, move on to 30' where the goal is to make 3 out of 6. Then I cycle back up to the 15 foot spot. Basic rule is you have to meet each position's goal to move on through the cycle and if you're not successful, you go back to the last successful spot. This routine has made a significant improvement in my putting game and I expect I'll be moving the spots back another five feet by April.

I also play single disc rounds regularly. Actually, I played single disc exclusively for years. Learning to make one disc fly whatever line you need will teach you things you'll never learn using a bag full of discs.
