I will be living in the bucktown/wicker park area. Anyone near that location for car pooling?

I'm in the near west burbs. Oak Brook, Lombard, and Summit are the closest to me so far.

Mashnut is near the north side if I'm not mistaken.

@erock216...Summit is...interesting. That's GoodDriveBadPutt's home turf.

Oswego, Community, Highland are all pretty solid. There's a handful of other somewhat solid courses (West, Trinity, etc.)

For the good courses you either gotta head north across the border to Wisco for Grey Fox or east to Indiana to my home turf for Lemon Lake/Rogers Lakewood.

Hit us up when you get into town.

Re: knees.

I jacked my knee/shin up really badly a few weeks back.

I will forever more swear by the following formula: stay off it for a couple of days, keep it elevated, but MOST IMPORTANTLY alternate ice (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) and a heating pad for the good part of a couple of days. Take some aspirin.

Oh yeah. That heals things up real quick-like.

mashnut

Ah, I only played it the one time with you so I haven't played the winter layout.

notroman
01-24-2012, 07:14 PM
Yeah... Dana said the winter layout is similar to the glow doubles layout he had earlier. Not sure what holes he tweaked (if any), but a lot of the holes are shortened up. Hole 1 is pretty much a straight 385ft shot, then 2 plays sideways across the fairway to original 1 basket, hole 2 becomes 3, hole 3 becomes 4, hole 5 is old 4 but it's shorter and left so a legit par 4. The par 6 was split into 3 separate holes. First being a bomb par 4 with the tee much farther back, but the basket near the bend. Then the uphill portion is actually two separate holes, followed by a big downhill open bomb. The rest change too, I guess it would be pointless to describe here if others haven't played it. 18 is fun. Basket is in the same spot, but the tee is back up across the creek so it's a huge elevated tee bomb over trees with OB. Par 4 as well.

Enjoy! I'm interested to hear your opinion on the new ones, I played Eastway but none of the other ones that went in last year or are still being finished.

Long, but with some gaps to hit. Accurate rollers would be a big plus there, and know how your distance discs do in the wind.

but what about snow D= Is there any good tpads out there or no?

The tees are natural, but most had good grass so they shouldn't be too muddy.

Pine Hills-
Right now there are 4 fly pads, 2 tees on concrete/gravel and the rest all natural. Working on getting some more pads for the ice bowl.

The winter layout starts behind the clubhouse, next to the practice golf putting green. You are throwing over the practice green towards the treeline. Hole 3 is the tee for the par 6 which has been shortened to a par 4 (only 1 on the winter layout!). Every tee, other than maybe 3 should be really easy and simple to find. The NEXTEES from Whirld Sports help out big time, as well as the fact that you can pretty much see the next teepad from the previous basket.

Thanks jason! If anyone wants to donate we have a club paypal account at our club website (http://www.centraliadiscgolf.com), just click on the donate for teepads button on the left side make sure you put Illinanasconsigan group sponsorship in the note.

I will also be contributing to the illianasconsinigan sponsored teepad. The more people we get to donate, the less everyone needs to chip in.

:thmbup:Thanks mashy, y'all can stay at my place if needed...I'll even cook up some breakfast. There are some new ones you haven't played yet, as well I believe

Thanks for your support Roman. Let me know how much you'd like to donate!

 I'm hoping to get an outlaw donation, definitely will be a SOILED and maybe a LAKERS donation, hopefully one from the Outlaw as a whole as well. It would be pretty cool to see a sign on the tee that says "Donated by the Traveling Outlaws"

I threw a 154 Blizzard Destroyer today and that thing BOMBS. It was pretty stable. I'd say a hair more HSS than a brand new poppy top Destroyer.

Amazing. Weather here is unreal. Started off today at Eastway, then moved on to Nevin, then Renny Gold, then Angry Beaver, followed by a Buzzz/Wizard only speed golf round at Eager Beaver. Shorts and t-shirt the whole time :) Sunny and 60s here; I was kinda starting to sweat if I was in the sun too long. Not looking forward to going back home.

Lemon Lake on Super Bowl Sunday?

I would consider a Saturday trip down there.

notroman

I'm probably going to drive down to St. Louis for the weekend and play down there. Forecast is for some light showers on Saturday but a little rain isn't going to hurt anyone.

notroman
02-02-2012, 05:53 PM
I should say my plans are still entirely dependent on how this storm pans out. Forecasts are still all over the map and some are saying St. Louis will get a quarter inch of rain on Saturday (not bad), some are sayin 1-2 inches (I'm not going). If I do end up getting rained in, I'll be sure to post here and see what everyone is up to.

I'm closing this thread and starting a new one here (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1228128#post1228128). Tim wants threads that get over 5000 posts closed up, it has nothing to do with the content or anything, it's just for site performance. Pretend the new one is just a continuation of this one.
