I just got a 9x KC Pro Cheetah as I have been meaning to try a Cheetah for quite a while and took the opportunity to snag this when I saw it available (thanks Toothy)

Anyway; holding it, it feels really flat and I like the feel. I am just wondering; if I fall in love with using this 9x Cheetah , how far off are the production runs that are widely available?

Great question.
How 'bout the 10x and 11x KC Pro Cheetahs?

I haven't thrown any of the KC pro cheetahs, but I've heard several places that they throw more like dx gazelles than the dx cheetahs.

Hmmm Well Gazelles are on my list so maybe I will find out if thats true. At least from the 9x.

In general, it appears that the Pro versions are more stable than their DX cousins. While I've only thrown the Pro Cheetahs a couple times (10X and 11X) I've found this to be true. It is definately true of the Gazelles, the 11X being the flattest and most stable and the 9X being a touch more stable than DX.

The 9X and 10X plastic seems similar, like a tougher version of the "modern" pro, the 11X is a Champion-type version.

The new CFR Gazelles are somewhere between the DX and 11X, IMO. Very nice, if you want a premium plastic version.

Tech - isn't that a 10X?

You know what; I think you might be right. Where did I get 9X from?

I think they fly pretty similar. I can turn a cheetah over but they usually come back, gives a nice long s but you gotta have room.

Was thinking of complimenting it with a light Pro Leo to handle turnovers that dont come back for a speed 6 and under disc down bag but I havent thrown the Cheetah yet so not sure. May very well be able to get away with just using the Cheetah.

I always felt the Cheetah had Leopard turn with Gazelle fade. A nicely beat-in Gazelle flies a bit like a Leopard, too.

That whole line is just a sack of innova-awesomeness.

Speed 6 ftw.

Just threw the Cheetah for the first time today and absolutely positively love it! So I need to either find more or find an equivalent in production.

Oh, and it is a 9x Tooth.

Try a dx cheetah, they are more similar than the gazelle-pro gazelle.

I will give one a shot. Hope it works because I think this is my favorite disc already.

I re-checked the pic...you're right! Looks identical to a new 10X I had.

I'm really, really considering going back the Gazelle setup, and maybe one Cheetah for that turnover/fade back shot. The control of the speed 6 line up is amazing and they still get nice D.

DX Cheetah is nice...it's an S-curve out of the box.

Well, that was short lived as I slammed it into a tree just off a tee today and its warped. Now when I put it on as extreme of hyzer I can, it flips over and crashes and burns at about 250' where I was getting a nice straight shot with a slight fade for 325' when putting just a touch of hyzer on it before. :wall:

I will have to get to a store or order another one. Might even try some hot water and a book to see if I can flatten it out, but for now; I was using my Pro Leopard which is also about 12 grams lighter and with a hyzer angle it would go about as far at 325' but has a slow turn all the way to finishing about 10' right. Might try my GL River and throw it like that to see if I can get it to lock in a little straighter that the Leopard since its a notch faster.

EDIT: Toothy. Do you think that Cheetah was really 174? Feels a little lighter than that and noticed the marking on the back doesnt look like Innovas pen and wasnt sure if you were the original owner.

bummer...taco'd it on the first throw?!

i wouldn't use hot water and a book...you can heat up water in a pot, till it's steaming, then float the disc upside down. that would be more natural than putting a bunch of weight on it

Nah, it was hole 8 on our 2nd round. There were 2 girls getting senior pictures done and one was dressed like a total slut so I was a bit distracted. I cant beleive her mom was letting her wear a cut-off skin tight top, jeans she had to have used butter to get on and high leather boots for senior pictures.

Cant remember the last time I hit that tree. Used to hit it all the time when I was new to the game but had not been a concern for a long time.

I will give that a try. Have a tacoed Valk I can test on first to see how it works. Thanks

Can you not just manually bend it back? I do this all the time with my DX Eagles and such.

I got it in a trade. I didn't verify the weight, either.

Sorry to hear it tacoed, but it may come back a bit on it's own. A little hand shaping may be more helpful, too. I've had to to do that on a few, you may be able to un-taco it and then tune the rim section back up.

Well, I got a new DX Cheetah, and didnt pass up the $5 X out Gazelle while I was at it and Im working on the 9x now with steaming water. I'll let you know if it works.

My fix appears to have worked. Its much flatter. Put it on the piano bench and it rocked a lot when pressing an edge down before, and now its very little.

Still can see where the nose of the disc hit the tree. If you turn it looking at the nose profile, you see when it comes around where its bent down so, trying to tune it gently back up a little. Now just have to see how it flies!
