I've got the oppurtunity to pick up an E Line Assassin, 169g for $8, lightly used. I was wondering how it throws...GGGT shows the same stats as am Eagle (i've only thrown one twice). I was wondering what the plastic was like as well. flexyness and grippiness. Thanks!

the gripiness is great. similar to a mix of champy star. it has a straight flight with minimal fade. not like the eagles i have thrown

My wife has 2 assassins in her bag. A lighter one and a heavier one. They are pretty good in the wind so even if it doesn't make you wet as a distance disc they do perform well in the wind.

The E-Pro Assassin is my go-to fairway driver (though I've been using a Stalker a lot lately). Out of the box, it's similar in flight to a lightly seasoned Eagle. Once it's broken in, it flies pretty straight. Once beat, you've got a nice turnover driver or little piece of flip. I've juiced my Assassins out to 330-340'.

The plastic is pretty neat. It's got a Star-like feel with a rougher, grippier edge. It does get beat up a bit quicker than Star plastic though...I'd say it's more like ProStar than ChampyStar.

I'm currently trying to work out which I like better, Stalker or Cyclone...

I dunno if I should throw another driver into the mix. My current turnover disc is a Z XL....

The Assassin was my favorite Gateway driver when I was throwing them. Very reliable and the plastic feels great!

You have to bang it up to get it there. I cycle through 3-4 Assassins in different states of wear. If you get used to the Assassin and like the way it feels/throws, you might not have a need for that XL mold.
