One might exist, but I’d like to start a thread with pics of the flukiest and most gimmicky circus golf holes and pin placements our sport has to offer.

Please don’t be offended if your home course or a course you designed makes the cut ..... it’s all in good fun (much like the intent of the holes).

I’ll start it off with a few .....

Hyzernaut's DGC – Germany – Hole #1

Winthrop Gold’s Famous Bamboo Fence – Hole #7

It's actually kind of cool. It's not quite 8' though, the basket is about eye-level.

Oh, yeah. There might be more gimmicky holes out there, but Hippodome should take the quantity award. There are also nets strung between trees, a board wall behind a basket, the basket on a tower of barrels, and more subtly, half the baskets at non-standard heights.

....and STILL a good course.

when did they add the mesh? I remember seeing that one posted here awhile ago and I don't think the mesh fence was on it

hole at HH is a testament to that one. zenbot doesn't know a corral from a stable.

Is an elevated basket a gimmick? I've seen a few, but I wouldn't say they are a gimmick for the most part.

How about #8 at Tyler State Park, in PA? It's about 50 ft down if you're long...

This is a mini course it's called a ground target. But I was thinking on this the other day, how would you feel about ground targets. There could be a few ways of including them, have the normal basket with an extra basket below, have just the chains but recess the basket into the ground, or just have the GT and a pole. The last option really changes things as your approach game would be drastically different all of the others allow for rollers and skips. Thoughts?

Another elevated basket at Schenley in Pgh. It's kind of cool because there are a few of these old concrete things that must have been part of a pavilion or something way back. Makes the putt interesting, plus once in a while you end up putting from on top of one of the other concrete things.

Creating true par fours with greens alone is one of the big challenges of disc golf....
