View Full Version : elevated basket - pic needed

I'm looking for a picture of an elevated basket with a small, man-made base built around the bottom to show my local parks department. I don't need a pic with a basket on a tall pole and no base around the bottom or a basket stuck in the middle of a tree like at Woodland Greens in Highbridge.
I've only played a couple courses that have them and none have decent pictures. Hole 13 at Crocket Park outside Nashville is a great example but the pic is from way too far away.
Thanks a bunch!

Baskets 8 & 12 of Oshtemo Park in Kalamzoo,Mi. 49009 have very clean, wishing well style placements that are made of nice bricks, sitting about 3ft high.

sorry, neither link worked. go to Winged deer park (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/gallery.php?id=2029&mode=gal&view=hole&hole=12&page=1#) and look at the last picture of number 12.

there are a couple holes that like that at Chandler Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma, anyone from that area should be able to help you out. they are elevated and have stacked stone bricks, its slick.

This was hole #9 at Winthrop Gold (http://picasaweb.google.com/gastondiscgolf/MiscellaneousImagesWwwGastondiscgolfCom#5068330285 128698226) taken a couple of years ago. It is lower now.

Course is seasonal, doesn't go in until mid-November and comes out mid-march to avoid said situation of throwing on picnicers. It does go in out of season (one weekend in October and one weekend in May) for tournaments and that is when this pic was taken.

The Picnic course looks fun but how crazy is the wind coming off of the lake?
Hole 17 at Stumpy Creek and Eastway Park. #8 at Stumpy is raised as well with a blue PVC sewer pipe.

Let me 2nd your suggestions! It's a blast. But it's one heck of a hike! I played a round of doubles there after the ace race a couple weeks ago. It was only about 65-70 and I regretted only having one bottle of water and all terrain running shoes. Should have had the 2 bottles of water and hiking boots! Good times in any case!
And Seth Burton is on the same site, so that's a pretty sweet 36 holes!

It's usually very windy! lol. The basket is located on the east side of that lake. So the winds from the west have the entire lake to build up on. Atleast the wind usually blows FROM the lake, instead of INTO the lake though.
