2011 Travel Tags!

2011 tags are now available in the DGCR Store (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/store/). They are the first tags that are part of the new scheme of having a new color each year. They're also the first tags that will work with the new Travel Tags (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/travel_tags.php) page (also accessible via the "Members" main menu item.

Yes, as soon as I process the order you'll be in the system and on the map. All swaps are handled through the site now so you'll go to the travel tags page, put in the tag you swapped for and when, confirm the swap and then the other person has to approve it.

Also, you can't swap for a tag you've already had.

I couldn't bring the 2010's into the map since I'd have to manually figure out and enter all the swaps.. definitely not something I wanted to do, especially given some of the behind the scenes stuff happening with the tag map.

Once some swaps start happening I think you guys will really dig some of the other views available. My favorite is the one that lets you see the path a tag has taken through the country.

Yeah, but he's only gotten really serious in the last 2 years or so...kind of like I've been "playing" 12-something years, but it wasn't until I got involved in course design and playing an occasional tournament that I started to really focus on form, proper disc selection (indeed, proper disc PURCHASES!), and finesse shots...and DGCR has helped even more since I joined! I keep telling him--even when he gets frustrated with a particularly bad hole/round--that if he sticks with this, he'll be outdriving and outputting me within 5 years, if not sooner. He played his first event this year, my Ace Race, and was one of a handful to get a metal hit, and he also won a CTP that the entire field was eligible for, so he shot better than 20-some people on that hole, which he still talks about (and says he doesn't want to throw the disc he won 'cause it's his first DG win).

I'm guessing by the time she's around the age Hunter started...and we've got a lot more short beginner courses around than I did when Hunter started, so now I just have to hope she doesn't hate it altogether like my oldest daughter does!

Knowing Hunter, though, he'll probably give Zoey the mini I just ordered for him. I think I should invest in a few of those Wham-O mini baskets...

Yes; in fact, the store directs you to PayPal on checkout (with other payment option links, but PayPal seems to be the preferred method).

B - I just bought my 2011 travel tag, but I didn't enter my DGCR # or ID at checkout (didn't see anywhere to enter comments in the PayPal checkout). LMK if that's going to be a problem Tim. I don't know if making swaps can gain you an "achievement" but swapping 10 times or so for a nifty little icon might be a good motivator to get out there and meetup.

I considered tying an achievement into it but I wasn't sure how to go about it since swaps restart at 0 every year. I guess I could just do overall swaps across all years starting with 2011.

Well you can't swap tags from different years.. that won't work and the system won't allow you to do it. What I meant was just to count all 2011 swaps, 2012 swaps, etc. as a single number for the purposes of the achievement.

Ive swapped my 2010 tag about 5 times, I think its out in Cali right now. I have had a lot of people ask me about the bag tag after they noticed it hanging off my bag. Theyre great and awesome advertising for the DGCR. Ill be picking up my 2011 tag soon.

On the travel tag swap page, there is an icon for each tag holder that says "view member's DGCR profile"... when I click on it I get an error message of "Not found."
I can easily click on the members name but I just wanted to point this out.
Can't wait to get my new tag and start trading!!! :hfive:

I've been sending all the tags out the next day so you should have it in 3 to 5 business days after ordering. They're sent via regular first class mail so if you live farther from NY, it'll take a little longer.
