Not sure how stupid this sounds, but has anyone tried dying discs using Kool-Aid? I have a friend who swears to me it works great. Is he just yanking my chain?

My city has no craft stores!!! Neither Wal-Mart or Target has it... Maybe I will order it on-line...

Some grocery stores carry it. You could also try asking at fabric stores.

try sticking Sharpie guts in a solvent (paint thinner, rubbing alcohol)just dont use a whole lot or ull dilute the color to much(unless you like pastells, not that thers anything wrong with that.

I helped write the FAQ'a on Kool-Aid (http://www.geocities.com/donovn1/koolafaq.html) in the late 90's.
It is used to dye hair, dye clothes and even paint. The clothes do fade slightly over time, but not bad. How it will do soaking into plastic...I have no idea. It can also be a stain and rust remover for sinks and drains. Here is the odd uses section (http://www.geocities.com/donovn1/koolafaq.html#8).

I've seen some discs dyed with Kool Aid. They take on a more faded look but the smell of the powder stays with the disc

OHHHHHH YEEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!!
I think this needs to be dyed on one of my discs (Well, the picture of the Kool-Aid man). That way, whenever I get a great shot, I'll just say "OHHHHHH YEEAAHHH!"

Maybe we just need to mix RIT Dye INTO the Kool-Aid, that way you get bright, sharp, long-lasting dyes, AND you get that berry-fresh smell.

a long time ago we were trying to dye discs with dye made for coloring plastic fishing worms. the color was great but they smelled horrible. if you can find the worm dye without the chicken liver scent it works great.:D
