Got another question.
Does anyone reuse dye or store it? I was thinking about getting some mason jars or milk jugs and storing it in those so I don't have to keep buying more every time I want to dye something. Especially if I am going to tackle a couple multi colored jobs.
Thanks

I put my black dye in a milk jug as well. I've never reused it, but I read that you just need warm it up again and it's fine.

i re-use and re-use... I leave a pan of BLACKNESS on the stove for months... when the water evaporates away i add more. Rarely do i ever change the dye, usually i just add more black to it. :D
I do my colors differently so i make new dye each time.

I would be beat if I left a pot of dye on the stove for months. Beat dead... I'll have to try reusing it and see what happens.

I use big tupperware like containers. Let the dye cool down before you put it in so you dont warp em'. Works great for me. I got some at Big Lots that have a handle and a little pour spout they work awesome. If the dye has a shelf life I havent found it yet.

I started using Mason Jars - real cheap and durable. I was making the Cubs disc last night, and saved my scarlet dye in a new jar, only to discover that I already had a jar full of scarlet. It is amazing how many lessons I have taught myself while dying discs.

Speaking of which, one week I drank nothing but welch's grape soda for breakfast, lunch and dinner and between meals as well. I was pretty damn amazed to crap this exact hue:

I save mine in cheap sandwich sized "gladlock" rip off containers (Kroger brand) in the fridge. You can get a 4 pack for like a $1.50. If you dont use a color for a long time it gets pretty thick, just add a little water. I've done the leave a pot on the stove thing too but that was squashed when my step-daughter spilled it once... good thing I was home & could clean the counter/floor with acetone immediately.
